摘要: Embodiments provide efficient channel access utilizing a channel assessment mode and include determining that a predetermined condition exists on a radio bandwidth (e.g., unlicensed band); and, in response to determining that the predetermined condition exists on the radio bandwidth, initiating the channel assessment mode on the mobile device, where the channel assessment mode is configured to implement a channel assessment scheme configured for efficiently accessing a channel on the radio bandwidth. Some embodiments monitor the radio bandwidth for one or more triggering events indicative of interference; and detect at least one of the one or more triggering events indicative of interference on the radio bandwidth in order to determine the predetermined condition exists. These triggering events may include determining a current/historic packet collision probability is above a threshold, detecting signals that identify another radio access system, detecting a channel utilization ratio above a threshold, and determining a current/historic data throughput.

摘要: Embodiments provide for improving fairness among devices accessing a radio bandwidth, the devices including a mobile device using the radio bandwidth to access a radio access system using a channel access protocol, wherein the channel access protocol is a collision avoidance-type channel access protocol configured for using a back-off time before transmitting a retransmission (e.g., CSMA). Embodiments determine information from the radio bandwidth, where the information comprises inter-system packet transmission information; analyze the inter-system packet transmission information to determine an adjusted back-off time; and implement, by a mobile device, the adjusted back¬off time before transmitting the retransmission over the radio bandwidth.

摘要: Determining the location of a body area network enabled device on a user's body and using the location information to determine whether to send instructions or data to the device over the body area network, includes integrating an EMG sensor into a device that is wearable or otherwise meant to be in contact with or close proximity to an intended area of a user's body. The integrated EMG sensor may detect the electrical potential of the user's body at the point of contact. Variance of electrical potential across the user's body may be used to determine information regarding the location of the sensor, and thus, the location of the device on the user's body. The location of the device, in turn, may be used to determine whether to send instructions or data to the device over the body area network.

摘要: A method for improving fairness among devices accessing a radio bandwidth. The devices include a mobile device using the radio bandwidth to access a radio access system using a channel access protocol, wherein the channel access protocol is a collision avoidance-type channel access protocol configured for using a back-off time before transmitting a retransmission (e.g., CSMA). Information is determined from the radio bandwidth. The information is analyzed to determine an adjusted back-off time. The mobile device implements the adjusted back off time before transmitting the retransmission over the radio bandwidth.
