    摘要: A method of environment mapping comprising the steps of receiving a plurality of images from respective different viewpoints; using a simultaneous localisation and mapping ‘SLAM’ process, detect feature points in the plurality of images; classifying one or more objects within the plurality of images as being objects of interest; determining the position of the or each object of interest using feature points corresponding to the objects of interest in the images; and providing an indication of the position of one or more objects of interest to a user of a virtual display; and wherein the step of determining the position of the or each object of interest using their feature points is repeated, more frequently than for other feature points in the images.

    摘要: A system for displaying a virtual object includes a display device for displaying an environment; a video camera, where the video camera is operable to capture a video image of an area of a user's environment, the size of the area in the video image being larger than the size of the area of the environment viewable at the display device; a motion predictor operable to predict a motion of the camera; a scene processor operable to identify and process a portion of the captured video image that corresponds to an area of the environment that is expected to be made viewable at the display device, as a result of the predicted motion; an image generator configured to receive an input from the scene processor, and in response thereto, generate a virtual object for display at the display device; and where the image generator is configured to output the virtual object for display in response to a detection of the predicted motion.

    摘要: A method of generating an image includes receiving a video stream, the video stream having a two-dimensional video of a three-dimensional scene captured by a video camera; determining a mapping between locations in the two-dimensional video of the scene and locations in a three-dimensional representation of the scene, the mapping being determined based on a known parameter of the video camera and a known size of a feature in the three-dimensional scene; generating a three-dimensional graphical representation of the scene based on the determined mapping; determining a virtual camera angle from which the three-dimensional graphical representation of the scene is to be viewed; rendering an image corresponding to the graphical representation of the scene viewed from the determined virtual camera angle, and outputting the rendered image for display.
