Process for improving mechanical properties of an aged polyester composition consisting essentially of copolymer of hydroxybutyrate units and hydroxyvalerate units which comprises heating the polyester at a temperature whereby (i) the polyester is restored to its original non-aged properties, and (ii) subsequent ageing of the polyester is retarded as indicated by substantial improvement of at least one measurement indicative of ageing compared to non heat treated polyester of the same age. The invention includes the polyester composition and shaped articles which have been subjected to the process and in which ageing is retarded.

This invention discloses a multilayer article prepared by rotational moulding that comprises: a) a layer A that is a polyolefin(PO)-based layer prepared from a composition comprising:—from 40 to 100 wt % of polyolefin (PO) or a mixture thereof and—from 60 to 0 wt % of a functionalised polyolefin (FPO) or of a PO grafted to a non-polyolefin (NPO) in the form of a block copolymer (PO)g-NPO); b) a layer B comprising:—a PO that is dissimilar from that of layer A or a NPO or a mixture thereof; —optionally a FPO or a (PO-g-NPO); c) optionally a layer C prepared from a polymer that is dissimilar from that of layer A and that is similar to or dissimilar from that of layer B and is adjacent to layer A and/or layer B and, if present, is characterised in that it has good adhesion to layer A and/or to layer B and is not a blend of layer A and layer B. It also discloses a method for preparing these articles.

The present invention relates to a hose having a layer consisting of a fluoropolymer onto which an unsaturated monomer has been irradiation-grafted and, a polyolefin outer layer. The hose is useful for transporting petrol in a service station. In one embodiment a fluoropolymer, preferably PDVF, layer is placed beside the irradiation-grafted fluoropolymer. The hose may consist of a irradiation-grafted fluoropolymer inner layer and a polyolefin outer layer, or multilayer hose with either a central irradiation-grafted fluoropolymer layer and polyolefin inner and outer layers, or a polyolefin central layer and irradiation-grafted fluoropolymer inner and outer layers. The irradiation-grafted fluoropolymer layer may be replaced with a layer of a blend of a fluoropolymer, preferably PVDF, and of an irradiation-grafted fluoropolymer. It may also be covered with a fluoropolymer.
