摘要: A vessel for housing an organ such as lungs from a mammal ex-vivo, for evaluation or preservation. A liquid solution suitable for evaluation or preservation of the lungs surrounds the organ, at least partly. The solution is circulated via an outlet and an inlet. Two pressure chambers are arranged between the walls of the vessel and the organ. A gas is introducible to the pressure chamber in order to expand the pressure chamber for occupying the spaces surrounding the organ. Then, the pressure inside the pressure chambers is increased in order to push the solution to a higher level so that the organ is immersed in the solution without necessitating addition of further solution. Alternatively, the vessel is exposed to an under pressure and the pressure chambers are open to the atmosphere. In a further alternative embodiment, a solution collection space has variable volume.

摘要: Method and device for treatment of a heart after harvesting and before transplantation. The device includes a container intended to comprise the heart; a first line for connection to an aorta of the heart; a fluid circuit comprising an oxygenator for oxygenating said fluid and a heater/cooler for regulating the temperature of said fluid; and a pump for perfusion of said fluid through the coronary blood vessels of the heart. The fluid includes an oncotic agent exerting an oncotic pressure larger than about 30 mmHg; and is cardioplegic by comprising a potassium concentration, which is between 15 mM and 30 mM. A control device is arranged for controlling the pump to perform said perfusion intermittently, whereby the perfusion time is less than half of the cycle time. The perfusion is performed at a pressure, which is at least 15 mmHg and at least 15 mmHg lower than said oncotic pressure.

摘要: An apparatus intended for evaluation, preservation and perfusion of an organ, such as a lung. The apparatus includes a container with a bottom portion, an insert portion and a lid portion. A pulmonary artery tube is intended to be connected to the lung pulmonary artery and a trachea tube is intended to be connected to the trachea of the lungs and bent tube connects the pulmonary artery tube to a circuit for providing a fluid to the pulmonary artery is provided. The circuit includes a pump, an oxygenator, an optional leukocyte-filter, and a holder for connecting the trachea tube to a source of respiration. There is an oxygenator tube set and a leukocyte-filter tube set. A supporting structure for the container comprises a recess sized for enclosing said container and a display panel. Moreover, there are two handles, which may be unfolded into a position for supporting a sterile cloth.

摘要: A method and system for organ evaluation and preservation for connection to an organ and for recirculation of a perfusion medium there through. The system comprises a first collection device for collection of the perfusion medium perfused through the organ and a second collection device arranged in an outlet conduit from the first collection device. A pump passes the perfusion medium from the second collection device to the organ via a conduit. A flow regulation device, such as an on-off clamp, is arranged in the outlet conduit for controlling the flow in the outlet conduit in order to maintain a constant fill of the second collection device as measured by a fluid level sensing device.

摘要: An apparatus for enclosing an organ after harvesting and before implantation, having; a vessel enclosing a fluid, a connection tube for connecting a circulation hose to the organ for passing a fluid to the organ by a pump, and a degassing hose extending from the connection tube to the vessel. A pinch valve is arranged in the degassing hose. During a degassing phase, the pinch valve is opened to allow fluid flow from the pump, via the circulation hose to the connection tube and via the degassing hose to the vessel for expelling air entrapped in the fluid flow system. A balloon is arranged to prevent fluid flow via the connection tube to the organ during the degassing phase. A sterility arrangement closes the vessel at the top and may be replaced by further sterility arrangements without compromising the sterility.

摘要: A method and device for providing ventilation gas to a patient during cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The device comprises: a gas source for supplying oxygen to the bronchi of the patient and a switch valve for initiating and terminating the gas supply. The switch valve is operated synchronous with the cardiopulmonary resuscitation cycle so that the switch valve operates with the same cycle as the cardiopulmonary resuscitation cycle but off-set in relation to the cardiopulmonary resuscitation cycle. The gas supply is initiated between 25% and 2% of the cycle time before the start of a compression stroke and is terminated between 2% and 30% of the cycle time after the start of a compression stroke. Alternatively, the gas supply is initiated between 25% and 48% of the cycle time after the termination of a compression stroke and is and terminated between 52% and 80% after the termination of a compression stroke.
