摘要: There is provided a tool for friction stir welding, which is capable of promoting temperature rise of materials to be joined during joining to achieve friction stir welding in a short time, is excellent in heat insulating property of a coating layer, and is excellent in oxidation resistance and wear resistance. A tool for friction stir welding according to the present invention is a tool for friction stir welding including a base material and a coating layer formed on the base material, wherein the coating layer is formed of one or more layers, and at least one layer of the coating layer has a thermal permeability of 5000 J/s0.5·m2·K or less.

摘要: A spot friction welding tool is for performing spot friction welding of a first member and a second member by superposing the first member and the second member and pressing the spot friction welding tool against the first member and the second member from the first member side. Each of the first member and the second member is a steel plate having a tensile strength of not lower than 270 MPa and not higher than 370 MPa. The spot friction welding tool is rotatable around a rotation axis. The spot friction welding tool includes a column having a shoulder at a tip end thereof, and a cylindrical or truncated conical probe protruding from the shoulder in a direction of extension of the rotation axis.

摘要: At least one layer in a coating located on a surface of a substrate is a domain structure layer constituted of two or more domains different in composition and a thin layer located between the domains and being different in composition from each of the domains. The thin layer is located between any one domain and any another domain and in contact therewith. When the size of each of a plurality of first domains present in the domain structure layer is defined as a diameter of a virtual circumcircle in contact with each first domain, the average value of the size of each first domain is not smaller than 1 nm and not greater than 10 nm and a thickness of the thin layer in a direction of thickness of the domain structure layer is not less than 1 atomic layer and not more than 10 atomic layers.
