摘要: Method for recycling printed plastic articles without contaminating or staining the recycled plastic with color due the printed ink. The ink is a water-based composition comprising select self-crosslinking acrylate copolymers or polyurethane resins, which inks exhibit good adhesion under conditions of use, but which are readily removed as solid particles when exposed to a hot caustic solution. Due to the inks being removed as solid particles, and not dissolving into the ink, the recycled plastic remains uncontaminated by the ink during recycling.

摘要: The present invention provides a printing ink or coating composition comprising a self-crosslinking acrylic polymer and a silicone emulsion wherein the self-crosslinking acrylic polymer has a minimum film forming temperature of less than 25° C. Furthermore, the present invention also provides a process for preparing a coated substrate, in particular a polyboard substrate, and an article made from the coated substrate, such as a milk or juice carton.

摘要: Described herein are opaque water-based inks that include water and an opacity-providing polymer component. In one aspect, the opacity providing polymer component is a hollow sphere polymer material. The opacity-providing polymer material may replace all or part of white opacifying pigment material, such as titanium dioxide. Also described herein is a method of opacifying a printing ink by adding hollow sphere resin particles and a colorant to a printing ink that comprises water as a volatile component.
