摘要： A server acquires the total number of pages printed per hour and the number of pages printed per hour by each user on each printer in a network printing system in order to find printers whose hourly number of printed pages exceeds a load limit. The server also looks for printers having few printed pages per hour that do not exceed the load limit and issues a notification advising the user who is printing the largest volume on a printer exceeding the load limit to switch to a printer that prints few pages. Accordingly, a high concentration of printing found on a few printers can be moderated, reducing user wait time and excessive printer load.

摘要： A device management system that can easily manage devices on a network existing beyond a router. In the device management system, firstly, a management device transmits a packet to a probe device beyond a router. Then, the probe device broadcasts onto a network. Then, the device on the network transmits, by return, a reply-packet to the probe device. Then, the probe device determines whether the reply-packet is one received from the device that is to be managed, and transmits to the management device only the reply packet received from the device that is to be managed.

Configuring the wireless connection settings includes determining the setting item for which the input is not judged required to be received.

The controller carries out the following processes: (1) repeating a communication trial toward the device using one of stored communication configurations that are stored in the device managing apparatus, in which the communication configuration to be used is changed for each communication trial; (2) monitoring a response which is sent to the device managing apparatus from the device in a case where the communication trial has succeeded; and (3) displaying a plurality of areas, each of which is linked to each of the stored communication configurations; and displaying a symbol image representing the device in the area that is linked to the communication configuration with which the communication trial has succeeded. By using the device managing apparatus, the user can easily recognize, at a glance of the screen, devices at which the same communication configurations are set.
