摘要： A CID management method and apparatus in a multi-hop relay BWA communication system are provided. A BS combines data destined for an RS and data to be relayed to an MS via the RS in a payload, distinguishing the data by CIDs, attaches a relay CID to the payload, and sends the payload with the relay CID to the RS. Among the data of the payload, the RS processes its data and relays to the MS the data destined for the MS by distinguishing them by the CIDs.

摘要： A system and method for state synchronization between a base station and a mobile station in a mobile communication system. A count value indicative of a state change of the base station is received. The received current count value is compared with a previous count value previously received and stored. If the current count value is different from the previous count value, the mobile station performs a network entry procedure with the base station.

摘要： A method and apparatus for selecting a Relay Station (RS) for a Mobile Station (MS) of a communication system are provided. The communication system is provided with the MS, a serving Base Station (BS) for providing the MS with a service and RSs for relaying signals of the MS and the BS. The MS receives RS information for increasing system capacity from the serving BS, measures reference signal strength of an RS indicated in the RS information, and selects an associated RS as a target RS for relaying a signal when the measured reference signal strength satisfies a condition.

摘要： A scanning apparatus and method in a multi-hop relay Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) communication system are provided. In the scanning method, a Mobile Subscriber Station (MSS) sends a scan request message requesting scanning to a Base Station (BS) via a Relay Station (RS). The BS sends a scan response message containing information for the scanning of the MSS to the MSS via the RS. The BS then sends a scan notify message indicating the scanning of the MSS to the RS.

摘要： A method of requesting and allocating an upstream bandwidth in an RS in a multi-hop relay BWA communication system is provided. The RS receives an upstream bandwidth request message including an upstream bandwidth from at least one MS for a predetermined time period, detects the requested upstream bandwidth from the upstream bandwidth request message, calculates a total requested upstream bandwidth by summing the requested upstream bandwidth from the at least one MS, generates a new upstream bandwidth request message including the total requested upstream bandwidth, and sends the new upstream bandwidth request message to a BS.

摘要： A decoding method in a communication system using a Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code. The method includes determining whether an LDPC codeword to be decoded is a general LDPC codeword to which a puncturing scheme is not applied or a punctured LDPC codeword to which the puncturing scheme is applied; if the LDPC codeword to be decoded is the punctured LDPC codeword, generating a child parity check matrix according to a mother parity check matrix indicative of a parity check matrix of the general LDPC codeword, and a puncturing pattern applied to the punctured LDPC codeword; and decoding the punctured LDPC codeword according to the child parity check matrix.

摘要： An apparatus and a method for supporting an MS-initiated handover in a multi-hop relay BWA communication system are provided. An MS determines whether a handover is required by measuring the strengths of signals received from neighbor BSs and neighbor RSs. If the handover is required, the MS sends to a serving station a handover request message including MS-recommended target neighbor node list information, and receives from the serving station a handover response message including serving station-recommended target neighbor node list information.

摘要： Provided are an apparatus and a method for handling a handover in multi-hop relay Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) system. In a communication method of a Relay Station (RS) in a multi-hop relay BWA system, a handover request message including a candidate node list is received from a Base Station (BS), the handover request message is sent to a Mobile Station (MS), and a handover indication message is received from the MS, the handover indication message indicating whether to perform a handover. Communication persistence can be provided for the MS having mobile characteristics, and cell load management and RS configuration/arrangement can be easily accomplished.
