Abstract: A display device driving method and the display device are provided. The display device driving method determines a driving voltage value of each backlight unit based on a content to be displayed by a display unit corresponding to each backlight unit, achieving dynamic adjustment of luminous brightness of the backlight unit according to the display content of the corresponding display unit. Meanwhile, the driving voltage value is related to a noise in an image. Therefore, a better backlight brightness value can be obtained by reducing an influence of the noise on the adjustment of the luminous brightness.

Abstract: A display device and a controlling method thereof are provided. The display device includes a display panel, a backlight unit, and a time schedule controller. The display panel is configured to display images. Areas where afterimages of dynamic images occur are identified according to comparison results of dither values. Tailing phenomenon of the dynamic images may be relieved by transmitting backlight data without brightness to a second backlight sub-area corresponding to where the afterimages occur. Furthermore, because frequency multiplication is not applied, risks of display instability will not increase.

Abstract: The application provides a display panel and a driving method thereof. The display panel comprises a plurality of sub-pixels arranged in a matrix, and the sub-pixels are grouped into a plurality of cell areas arranged repeatedly along the row direction and the column direction. Each cell area comprises at least two sub-pixels, with polarities of adjacent sub-pixels opposite to each other. For at least two consecutive frames during a display cycle, the gray-levels of sub-pixels in the cell area maintain unchanged while polarities of the sub-pixels are reversed.
