    Abstract: In the coil component, the edge of the aperture of the protection film covering the coil from the lower surface side of the element body does not extend in the same plane. In this case, even if a crack occurs in the joint region between the coil and the bump electrode, the crack is less likely to cross the joint region as compared with the case where the edge extends in the same plane. Therefore, in the coil component, the crack is effectively suppressed.

    Abstract: In a coil component, an uneven structure provided by an insulation layer and a resin wall contributes to extension of a contact area with respect to a magnetic body, so that an adhesive force with respect to the magnetic body is improved. In addition, the magnetic body protrudes downward toward an exposed region of the resin wall corresponding to a recessed portion in the uneven structure, a volume thereof is increased, and coil characteristics such as an inductance value are improved.

    Abstract: An upper end portion and a lower end portion of a second magnetic portion of a coil component are further away from a coil than when a third part and a fifth part are not present. For this reason, a magnetic flux is unlikely to be concentrated in the upper end portion and the lower end portion of the second magnetic portion, so that magnetic saturation is unlikely to occur. Therefore, improvement of direct current superimposition characteristics is realized in the coil component.

    Abstract: In a planar coil element, a dead space in a non-overlapping region is reduced by designing a total width of a first resin wall and a first turn located in the non-overlapping region to be narrow, more specifically, by designing the total width to be narrower than a total width of a second turn outside the first turn and a second resin wall located inside the turn and also than a total width of a third turn on the outer side and a third resin wall located inside the turn. As a result, a volume of a magnetic element body in a magnetic core portion of a coil can be increased, and an, inductance value, which is a magnetic characteristic, can also be improved.

    Abstract: In a multilayer coil component, even when both pairs of ends of a first coil part and a second coil part are located at the same positions when viewed from the laminated direction and have the same shapes, a connecting part is connected only to a second end of the first coil part on the upper side in the laminated direction, and is connected only to a first end of the second coil part on the lower side in the laminated direction. Thus, a coil wound around along the laminated direction is structured without misaligning the positions of respective connecting parts. Consequently, the entire shapes of the respective coil parts can be designed to be the exact same shape, which makes it possible to reduce the number of types of coil part, saving labor and time for preparing many types of conductor patterns like the conventional type.

The main body portion has a surface part, the resin ratio of the surface part is higher than the internal resin ratio, and insulation is enhanced at the surface part. As a result, the pressure resistance on the surface of the main body portion is further improved and the pressure resistance of the entire coil component is further improved.
