摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed for triggering a long range extension mode of operation for a wireless device in a cellular communications network. In one preferred embodiment, the wireless device is a Machine Type Communication (MTC) device. In one embodiment, a node in the cellular communications network determines that the wireless device is to operate in the long range extension mode if there is difficulty in establishing communication between the wireless device and the cellular communications network. If the wireless device is to operate in the long range extension mode, the node activates one or more long range extension mechanisms with respect to the wireless device such that the wireless device operates in the long range extension mode. In this manner, the long range extension mode is selectively triggered for the wireless device.

摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed for estimating one or more channel properties of a downlink from a cellular communications network based on quasi co-located antenna ports with respect to the one or more channel properties. In one embodiment, a user equipment receives a downlink subframe including a downlink control channel from the cellular communications network. The user equipment estimates one or more large-scale channel properties for an antenna port of interest in the downlink control channel based on a subset of reference signals that correspond to antenna ports in the cellular communications network that are quasi co-located with the antenna port of interest with respect to the one or more large-scale channel properties. As a result of using the quasi co-located antenna ports, estimation of the one or more large-scale channel properties is substantially improved.

摘要: Embodiments herein relate to a transmitting node and method therein for transmitting channel information in subframes to a receiving node. Each subframe comprises a number of control channel elements and a set of control channel candidates. The transmitting node transmits control channel information in a subframe when a start control channel element index of a control channel candidate is smaller than or equal to the number of available control channel elements in a predefined subframe, and refrains from transmitting control channel information when the start control channel element index of the control channel candidate is larger than the number of available control channel elements in the predefined subframe. The embodiments also relate to a receiving node and method therein.

A terminal device (200) can use a received system signature to retrieve a set of system information from an access information table. The retrieved system information is used by the terminal device (200) to initiate a random access procedure to gain access to an operator network.

摘要: A network node in a wireless communication network communicates an enhanced Physical Downlink Control Channel (ePDCCH) to a user equipment (UE). This begins with the transmission, to the UE, of a configuration message that indicates the mappings of eDPCCH onto resource elements for both a first eDPCCH set and a second eDPCCH set. The mapping for the first eDPCCH set avoids the use of resource elements already in use by a first type of signal (e.g., a Cell-Specific Reference Signal or CRS), whereas the mapping for the second eDPCCH set avoids the use of resource elements in use by a second type of signal. The choice of an eDPCCH set for transmitting data to a UE may then be dynamically made in order to avoid interference caused by the first or second types of signal.

The node (12) determines one or more network selection parameters based on the estimated one or more quality factors, and communicates the one or more network selection parameters to at least one UE (10) for enabling the UE to select one of the first and second networks for subsequent access by the at least one UE. The UE receives from the radio network node one or more network selection parameters. The UE uses the one or more network selection parameters to select one of first and second radio networks and then accesses the selected radio network.

摘要: Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to handling of connection setups. More particularly, they relate to a method performed in a UE (4) for requesting a connection set up with a network node (2). The UE (4) receives a signal comprising a set of classifying parameters and based on these parameters determines at least one class to which it belongs to. The UE (4) also receives a PRACH preamble scheme associated with said class to be used by the UE (4) during a connection setup request. The method further controls the timing of transmitting at least one request, signal for requesting a connection setup with the network node (2) according to the received PRACH preamble scheme. Embodiments herein also relate to a method performed in a network node (2), and to a network node (2) and to a UE (4).
