Abstract:
A polymer composition having substantial adhesiveness is prepared by copolymerizing an alkylacrylate and maleic anhydride in the presence of an ethylene-vinylacetate copolymer and a hydrocarbon base selected from the group consisting of a hydrocarbon wax, a low molecular weight non-aromatic hydrocarbon resin, a chlorinated hydrocarbon wax and a chlorinated low molecular weight non-aromatic hydrocarbon resin having a molecular weight of 200-20,000.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a novel grafted polymer of vinyl chloride onto pre-chlorinated ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and/or pre-chlorinated ethylene-acrylic ester copolymer without post-chlorination. The grafted polymer has both favorable transparency and superior impact resistance. A novel process for producing said grafted polymer is also provided.
Abstract:
A laminated film which comprises a film substrate, an adhesive undercoat of a carboxylated ethylene copolymer composition prepared by copolymerizing a monomer mixture of an Alpha , Beta -unsaturated carboxylic acid or anhydride and at least one vinylidene monomer of the formula CH2 CXY where X and Y are the same or different and each represents hydrogen, chlorine, a lower alkyl containing 1-6 carbon atoms, acetoxy, or a carboxylic ester group in the presence of an ethylene-vinylacetate copolymer applied to said film substrate, and a top film of a polyolefin or ethylene copolymer applied to said adhesive undercoat.
Abstract:
A hot melt composition is prepared by employing an ethylenevinyl-acetate copolymer, having a vinylacetate content of 10-45% by weight and melting index of 1 - 1,000 g/10 min., and admixing at least one tackifier, wax, or asphalt and an oxidized low molecular weight polypropylene in a ratio of 1/100 - 60/10 by weight with the ethylene-vinylacetate copolymer.
