摘要: A drive system for a wire dot head is provided with sensors for detecting displacements of corresponding print wires. Each sensor outputs a movement initiation timing signal and an impact timing signal for the corresponding print wire. An electric current to be fed to an associated coil is normally controlled by these timing signals. It is detected whether these timing signals are obtained in a predetermined time period. If not, electric power is continuously fed to the coil or is forcedly cut off so that the timing signals are obtained within the predetermine time period.

摘要: In a wire-dot impact printer having a capacitance detector for detecting a displacement of each armature by a sensor electrode arranged opposite the armature, a space is formed between each sensor electrode and its associated armature, and a shield pattern is formed with a small space left around each sensor electrode. The shield pattern is fed with a potential at least equal to the potential of each sensor electrode. This makes it possible to reduce the influence of noise upon detection of a capacitance by the capacitance detector. A noise canceling electrode is also disposed around each sensor electrode and is connected to the sensor electrode, whereby a noise canceling circuit is further provided to eliminate noise voltage. The noise canceling circuit can eliminate a noise voltage picked up by the sensor electrode and the noise canceling electrode.

摘要: A drive current for driving actuators is generated based on a first digital signal comprising n-bit binary data which is supplied from a microprocessor and it is applied to an excitation coil. The drive current is supplied to the exciting coil and is converted into a voltage which is then converted into a second digital signal comprising n-bit binary data. The binary data of the second digital signal is compared with the digital data of the first digital signal to detect an alarm condition. Furthermore, the second digital signal is compared with first and second reference value to set plural alarm conditions.

摘要: A driving apparatus for controlling the drive of a direct current (DC) brushless motor including a stator having a plurality of armature coils which are provided on a generally circular stator yoke, and a rotatable rotor in which a disk-like magnet having N and S poles arranged alternately in a circumferential direction is provided on a generally circular rotor yoke to face the armature coils, includes a speed sensor for producing outputs responsive to a rotation speed of the rotor, a counter for counting the pulses which are produced by the speed sensors, a control circuit responsive to the speed sensors and counter for controlling the current applied to the armature coils in a predetermined sequence to thereby rotate the rotor, and a mechanism for cancelling a load acting on the rotor. The control circuit, at a start-up of the motor, switches the current applied to the armature coils to excite the armature coils in several different phases to thereby locate the rotor at a starting angular position, in the event when the rotor is located at the starting angular position, cancels a load acting on the rotor, at least before a last one of the phases is excited, subsequently controls rotation drive by counting output pulses of the speed sensor to determine an angular position of the rotor, and controls a rotation direction of the rotor on the basis of output pulses of the speed sensor and on a resulting count of the pulses. Also provided is a driving method for a brushless DC motor for effecting such a control.

摘要: A method of controlling a cut-sheet feeder installed on a printer to feed a cut sheet from a sheet hopper (1) included in the cut-sheet feeder to the printing unit of the printer at a sheet feeding speed corresponding to that of the printer. The printer gives a correction signal (S.sub.1) of a predetermined pulse width to the cut-sheet feeder, and then the cut-sheet feeder converts the pulse width of the correction signal into a corresponding number of pulses of a clock signal generated by its control unit (25), and obtains the difference between the number of pulses of the clock signal and a predetermined reference value to determine the deviation of the frequency of the clock signal from a reference frequency. The difference between the number of pulses of the clock signal and the reference value is added to a reference motor controlling value for driving a stepping motor (4) at a reference speed to obtain a corrected motor controlling value. When the printer gives a sheet feed command signal (S.sub.f) to the cut-sheet feeder, the stepping motor is driven for rotation according to the corrected motor controlling value.

摘要: The operation of an automatic sheet feeder provided with a plurality of sheet hoppers which are used selectively to feed sheets to a printer is controlled. A control unit of the printer supplies a multiplex control signal including a hopper select signal and a sheet delivery signal to the automatic sheet feeder through a single signal line. The width of pulses of the hopper select signal is smaller than a predetermined time, while the width of the sheet delivery signal is greater than the predetermiend time. The pulses of the multiplex control signal are compared with the predetermined time to discriminate the hopper select signal and the sheet delivery signal from each other. That sheet hopper corresponding to the number of pulses of the hopper select signal is selected, and then the automatic feeding of sheets from the selected sheet hopper commences upon the reception of the sheet delivery signal.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method of leading a moving body, such as a print head carrier of a printer of the like, which is driven by a direct current brushless motor, to a starting position. The direct current brushless motor, which forms part of the present invention, includes a stator including a plurality of armature coils secured on a stator yoke through a substrate, a disk-like magnet having N and S poles arranged alternately in the circumferential direction, the magnet being arranged to confront the armature coils, and a rotatable rotor provided with a speed-detecting slit arranged outside the magnet. Rotating power is obtained by applying an electric current corresponding to the magnetic pole of the magnet to each armature coil. A speed detector detects the speed-detecting slit and puts out a frequency pulse voltage proportional to the speed and a counter counts the output pulses from the speed detector to count out the timing to change the excitation phases to the armature coils so as to continuously rotate the rotor. The method of the present invention is characterized in that a stopper to stop the motion of the moving body is arranged so that at a position of a maximum torque of the direct current brushless motor or a predetermined position close to the maximum torque position, the moving body impinges against the stopper to stop rotation of the rotor, the count number in the counter is reset and the motor is then driven in the reverse direction to lead and locate the moving body at a starting position.
