摘要： A memory card and a recording/playback device are provided that are capable of deterring a memory card manufacturer from illicitly storing a same media ID on a plurality of memory cards. A memory card (100) includes a media ID storage module unit (610) and a memory unit (120). The media ID storage module unit (610) includes a media ID storage unit (611) that stores therein a media ID that is specific to the memory card, and a certification unit (609) that generates certification information that certifies the validity of the memory card based on the media ID. The memory unit (120) includes an encrypted content storage unit (122) for storing encrypted digital content. The recording/playback device (200) includes a memory card verification unit (200) that acquires the certification information from the memory card (100), verifies the validity of the memory card (100) based on the acquired certification information, and when the verification has failed, prohibits decrypting an encrypted content or encrypting a content, and a content encryption unit (209) that, when the verification has succeeded, encrypts the digital content or decrypts the encrypted digital content.

摘要： To protect rights of a copyright owner of digital content, technology is required to prevent digital content on a recording medium from being copied onto another recording medium and played back. A key distribution server securely receives a media unique key from a recording medium device, generates a first title key different for each content, encrypts the generated first title key with the media unique key, encrypts the content with the first title key, and transmits the encrypted first title key to the recording medium device and the encrypted content to the recording device. The recording device securely receives the encrypted content from the key distribution server and the first title key and a second title key from the recording medium device, decrypts the encrypted content with the first title key, encrypts the decrypted content with the second title key, and transmits the encrypted content to the recording medium device.

摘要： A drive device is provided to promote copyright protection by preventing playback of copied contents, even if unique identification information on a recording medium, used to generate title keys for decrypting encrypted contents, is revealed, and the contents are independently encrypted and copied using this identification information. Identification information unique to a recording medium 103 and used to generate title keys is recorded thereon, along with a signature for the identification information issued by a certificate authority terminal device 101. Before decryption and playback of the encrypted contents, a drive in a playback device 104 performs signature verification. When verification fails, the drive does not output the identification information. A program for playback in the playback device 104 therefore cannot generate a decryption key and fails to decrypt and play back the encrypted contents. The signature is not output externally. Therefore, an unauthorized individual cannot copy the recording medium 103.

In the AV stream, TS packets constituting I-pictures, of the first video stream, indicated by every 4N-th entry point in the first EP map, and TS packets constituting I-pictures, of the secondary video stream, indicated by the entry points whose presentation time is closest to the presentation time of any one of the every 4N-th entry point in the first EP map.
