摘要: An abnormality in operation is detected by meticulously monitoring the operation of a monitored device that comprises a state machine. The state number, indicating the state the monitored device is currently in, is output from the device. The upper and lower limit values of current consumption is set for each state number. A monitoring circuit, using the upper and lower limit values for the present state number, judges the value of current consumption detected by a current detection circuit and detects whether there is abnormality in operation.

摘要: If wavelengths λa and λb are dropped in NE (Network Equipment) 2 and a wavelength λc is made Through, and all of wavelengths are made Through in NE3 in a certain time period, a route from NE1 to NE2, a route from NE2 to NE4, and a route from NE1 to NE4 are established. If a user who uses the wavelength λa from NE1 to NE2, and a user who uses the wavelength λb from NE2 to NE4 do not use the routes in another time period, and if another user desires to use a route from NE1 to NE3 and a route from NE3 to NE4, the routes are reestablished in a way such that the wavelength λa is converted into the wavelength λb and made Through in NE2, and the wavelength λb is dropped and added in NE3.

摘要: An optical transmission technique for a ring transmission system that can transmit time-division-multiplexed optical signals in dual directions. An optical transmitting apparatus comprises a data link reading section, a topology creating section, a data link writing section, a squelch table creating section, a squelch table, an RIP table creating section, an RIP table, a node recognizing section, an east-side receiving unit, an east-side transmitting unit, a west-side transmitting unit, and a west-side receiving unit. When a transmission route is switched at plural positions, the squelch table and the RIP table are automatically created as soon as a crossconnect is set. With minimum setting, the ring transmission system can be normally operated without increasing the number of setting items, the squelch table can be created at a high speed using existing hardware, and an alarm can be automatically transmitted from a secondary node until each table is created.

摘要: A method for a load distribution control of packet transmission includes calculating bandwidths of individual physical ports at a time when inputted packets are distributed to the plurality of physical ports, using each of a plurality of hash calculation formulas; selecting one of the hash calculation formulas so that the calculated bandwidths of the packets for the respective physical ports may become uniform; and distributing and delivering the packets to the respective physical ports using the updated hash calculation formula.

摘要: In a monitoring device and system, a monitoring data inserter inserts monitoring data of a predetermined pattern into an idle period of input data to be transmitted to a transmission line. A monitoring data checker having received the monitoring data through the transmission line, when determining that the monitoring data does not maintain the predetermined pattern, provides selective switchover instructions to a selector to be controlled. Then, the monitoring data checker sequentially performs a selective switchover to processors, thereby detecting a failure point in the processors. Also, when the failure point in the processors can not be detected, the monitoring data checker provides channel switchover instructions to a switching portion and performs a channel switchover of the transmission line, thereby detecting which channel of the transmission line has caused a failure.

摘要: A dynamic memory management method and apparatus wherein an area of a memory is partitioned into a plurality of areas to form memory banks. The different priority classes share the memory banks. A policer (write controller) dynamically assigns input frame data of a plurality of classes having different degrees of priority to memory banks in accordance with the degrees of priority and stores the data there for each priority class. A scheduler (read controller) sequentially reads out the data from the frame data stored in the memory bank assigned to the class having the highest degree of priority and transmits the same. For storage of frame data of a priority of class input in a burst like manner, a plurality of memory banks are assigned to that priority class so as to raise the burst tolerance. By controlling writing and reading of data in units of memory banks, the control can be simplified. Due to this, the efficiency of usage of memory is improved and the write/read control is simplified.
