摘要: A surge absorber including a surge absorbing element for protecting communication equipment from transient surges and a thermal response switch with an automatic restoration function connected in parallel with the surge absorbing element. The inventive surge absorber prevents abnormal and deleterious heating of the surge absorbing element when continuous overvoltages or overcurrents are applied to the surge absorber.

摘要: A surge absorbing element is parallel connected to an electronic device via a pair of communication lines. A normally closed thermal response switch is serially connected between the electronic device and the signal source on the input side of the surge absorbing element. When a surge voltage is instantaneously applied to the communication lines, the thermal response switch remains in the closed position and the surge absorbing element acts to suppress the surge voltage. When an overvoltage or over current is continuously applied to the communication lines, the thermal response pieces of the thermal response switch open and simultaneously release the movable body. Consequently, the electronic device is disconnected from the signal source, thus stopping the continuous overvoltage or overcurrent from flowing to the electronic device and the surge absorbing element. Simultaneously, the reset pin is projected through the casing. After the temperature of the switch decreases, the switch is reset to the closed position by pushing a reset pin which reconnects the electronic device to the communication lines.

摘要: A protective structure for a surge absorber which is composed of the surge absorber, connecting means for connecting the surge absorber to an electronic device and means for protecting the surge absorber as well as the electronic device from fire caused by a continuous overvoltage. The surge absorber protecting means is composed of a first electroconductive spring member which does not deteriorate from heat generated by repeated transient surge voltages to which it might be subjected. This spring member may be connected to a communication line and is movable between a first spring-loaded position wherein it connects the electronic device and the surge absorber to the communication line and a second non-spring loaded condition wherein the connection is broken. Also included are release means for releasing the first member from its first spring-loaded position which release means is activated by heat generated from a continuous overvoltage.

摘要: A surge absorber 20 is produced by sealing a glass tube 10 by sealing electrodes 11 and 12 in state that the glass tube 10 is incorporated with a surge absorbing element 13 and with inert gas 14. The sealing electrode is constructed of an electrode member 11a made of alloy containing iron and nickel, and a copper thin film 11b or 21b of a predetermined thickness formed on both surfaces of this electrode member or only on one-side surface in contact with the glass tube and facing on an inside of the glass tube. A Cu.sub.2 O film 11c may preferably be formed on a surface of the copper thin film. This sealing electrode can be sealed in an inert gas atmosphere and has a satisfactory sealability to the glass tube with an electron emission accelerating action. In case where the copper thin film is formed on both surfaces of the electrode member, a lead wire can easily be soldered on an outer surface of the sealing electrode. The surge absorber sealed by this sealing electrode, at the time of sealing and arc discharging, is hardly deteriorated of its conductive coating and micro-gap, and has a higher surge resistance with a long service life.

摘要: A canister communicates with an intake manifold of an internal combustion engine through a purge pipe. The canister absorbs fuel vapor evaporated in a fuel tank. The absorbed fuel vapor is purged into the intake manifold when the engine is on. A gas leak check module communicates with the canister for drawing air by an air suction pump 43. When the engine is off, the air suction pump is driven and draws hydrocarbon floating at a vicinity of an intake port through the purge pipe. Thus, the hydrocarbon floating at the vicinity of the intake port is absorbed in the canister so that emission of hydrocarbon is reduced.

摘要: An automotive vehicle having a fluid-operated, four wheel steering system for steering not only the front wheel pair, but also the rear wheel pair as a function of the amount of turn of the front wheel pair with respect to the direction of straightforward run of the vehicle. The system makes use of a front cylinder operatively associated with a steering gear assembly and a rear cylinder operated by a fluid medium supplied from the front cylinder for steering the rear wheel pair. In order for the steering system to be responsive to the vehicle running speed thereby to control the amount of turn of the rear wheel pair appropriate for a particular range of vehicle running speed, a device is provided for accommodating a portion of the fluid medium to be supplied to the rear cylinder when the pressure of the fluid medium increases to a value higher than a predetermined pressure. Increase of the fluid pressure over the predetermined value takes place when the steering wheel is turned during the low speed run of the vehicle.
