    摘要: A laser driving method is adapted for driving a plurality of laser emitting devices. A first current to be supplied to each of the plurality of laser emitting devices is always generated. A plurality of second currents controlled according to a control signal supplied from the outside are generated when necessary. The plurality of second currents are supplied to the respective laser emitting devices under supply of the respective first currents, thereby making the laser emitting devices emit respective laser beams. The plurality of laser emitting devices are caused to emit the laser beams in time division at predetermined timing to detect each of emitted light amounts by one laser monitor. Adjustment is made to at least one of the first current and the second current supplied to each of the laser emitting devices according to a plurality of detected light amounts detected. Supply of the current to the laser emitting devices not driven is stopped when the plurality of laser emitting devices are adjusted in light amount in time division.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus, including a driving circuit for a multichip laser chip, which can limit or interrupt emission of laser light sources in accordance with a result of comparison of an optical output of each laser light source with a limiting value during time-division control is provided. The apparatus includes a plurality of laser light source, a light-amount control device for controlling an optical output of a laser beam from each of the plurality of laser light sources to a constant amount of light by performing time division processing, and a light detection device for detecting optical outputs of the plurality of laser light sources. The light detection device includes sensor units whose number is smaller than the number of the plurality of laser light sources. The apparatus also includes a limiting-value setting device for setting a limiting value for each optical output, a comparison device for comparing a time-division detection signal for a laser beam detected by the light detection device with the limiting value set by the limiting-value setting means during the time-division light-amount control by the light-amount control device, an emission control device for controlling emission of the plurality of laser light sources in accordance with an output signal from the comparison device, and a recording medium on which an image is formed by the plurality of laser beams.

    摘要: A magnetic recording method for a recording layer of a magnetic recording medium uses a thin film magnetic head with a sub-coil or a microwave radiator. In the method, a microwave spread spectrum (SS) signal is applied to the sub-coil or the microwave radiator, the microwave SS signal including a ferromagnetic resonant (FMR) frequency of the recording layer as a carrier wave within a band so as to generate an in-plane high-frequency magnetic field so that a magnetization reversal magnetic field Hsw of the recording layer is lowered. The magnetic recording is performed while the magnetization reversal magnetic field Hsw of the recording layer is lowered.

    摘要: A measurement circuit system of a magnetic field measurement apparatus of the present invention includes an amplifier, a mixer circuit and a band-pass filter that are connected in order on an output end side of a microstrip line or a coplanar wave guide, which is an in-plane high frequency magnetic field intensity measurement element, a frequency immediately before being inputted in the band-pass filter is down-converted by the mixer circuit to a frequency so that a band width of the band-pass filter can be used, the band-pass filter uses a narrow band of ±0.5-±10 KHz (1 KHz-20 KHz as a bandwidth) centering a fundamental frequency selected from 5-20 MHz that is down-converted by the mixer circuit as a center peak passing frequency, and the measurement circuit system is configured to obtain 3 dB or greater of a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) that is a ratio of S with N; where S represents the reproduction voltage (reproduction output) of the high frequency reproduction signal induced by the in-plane high frequency magnetic field intensity measurement element, and N represents a total noise voltage of a circuit noise including a noise generated by the in-plane high frequency magnetic field intensity measurement element. Therefore, the in-plane high frequency magnetic field that a microwave-assisted magnetic head generates can be measured with high reliability and precision.

    摘要: An in-stack bias is provided for stabilizing the free layer of a ballistic magneto resistive (BMR) sensor. In-stack bias includes a decoupling layer that is a spacer between the free layer and a ferromagnetic stabilizer layer of the in-stack bias, and an anti-ferromagnetic layer positioned above the ferromagnetic layer. The spacer is a nano-contact layer having magnetic particles positioned in a non-magnetic matrix. The free layer may be single layer, composed or synthetic, and the in-stack bias may be laterally bounded by the sidewalls, or alternatively, extend above the sidewalls and spacer. Additionally, a hard bias may also be provided. The spacer of the in-stack bias results in the reduction of the exchange coupling between the free layer and ferromagnetic stabilizing layer, an improved AΔR due to confinement of current flow through a smaller area, and increased MR due to the domain wall created within the magnetic nano-contact.
