In an exhaust device for an internal combustion engine for discharging an exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine through a multistage expansion type muffler having a plurality of expansion chambers for silencing the sound of the exhaust gas during the passage thereof, the multistage expansion type muffler includes a first tail pipe for communicating between a most downstream one of the expansion chambers and the outside of the muffler and a second tail pipe for communicating between an upstream one of the expansion chambers on the upstream side of the most downstream expansion chamber and the outside of the muffler.

    摘要: An exhaust emission control system for an engine that provides both early activation of a catalyst during cold-engine, low-load operation of the engine and protection of the catalyst during hot-engine, high-load operation of the engine. The exhaust emission control system includes a catalyst provided in an intermediate portion of an exhaust pipe; an exhaust valve provided in an upstream-side exhaust passage of the exhaust pipe between the catalyst and the engine; and an auxiliary exhaust passage, which is smaller in passage cross-sectional area than the upstream-side exhaust passage and is connected to the upstream-side exhaust passage so as to bypass the exhaust valve. The auxiliary exhaust passage has an inlet connected in the vicinity of an exhaust port of the engine and an outlet connected to the vicinity of the catalyst.

    摘要: A clutch apparatus includes a clutch outer member for supporting friction discs, which are nonrotatable relative to the clutch outer member, and are axially slidable along a clutch axis; a clutch inner member for supporting clutch discs, which are nonrotatable relative to the clutch inner member, and are axially slidable along the clutch axis, and a pressure plate having a deep recess for accommodating a clutch spring engaged with the clutch inner member. The deep recess includes a bottom portion having a spring seat for receiving the clutch spring, and a partially cylindrical shape wall portion having an axis parallel to the clutch axis. The wall portion is oriented towards the clutch axis. The deep recess has a communicating portion formed therein for establishing the communication between the inner and outer surfaces of the wall portion so as to discharge oil towards the friction and clutch discs during operation.
