    摘要: Disclosed are a charge transporting material useful as a material for organic electronic devices such as an electrophotographic photoreceptor, an organic EL device, and an organic solar cell and a process for the preparation of charge transporting fine particles. The charge transporting material comprises charge transporting fine particles formed with a charge transporting organic compound as an essential component, said charge transporting organic compound being selected from high molecular compounds and low molecular compounds, each having a positive hole transporting property or electron transporting property. The fine particles are granulated by emulsion dispersion, with a preferred average particle size of 0.01 to 50 .mu.m, and particle size distribution of 1.0 to 2.0 in terms of the square root of the ratio of 90% average particle size to 10% average particle size of the total volume or total number of the fine particles. At least one portion of the surface of the fine particles may be covered with a second compound which may react with said charge transporting compound.

    摘要: The invention provides an image forming apparatus comprising at least: an electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising at least a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer provided on the conductive substrate; a charging device; an exposure device; a developing device; and a transfer device, wherein the exposure device is of a multi beam exposure system which has a surface emitting laser array having two or more light-emitting elements as an exposure light source and which scan the electrophotographic photoreceptor with plural light beams thereby forming electrostatic latent image, and wherein the outermost layer in the electrophotographic photoreceptor, positioned most distant from the conductive substrate, contains a silicon-containing resin containing at least a charge transporting compound or a characteristic group derived from a charge transporting compound, and having a structure in which bonds formed by crosslinking of an O atom with neighboring Si atoms are formed three dimensionally.

    摘要: An electrophotographic photosensitive element having S-type photo-induced potential decay characteristics and an electrophotographic apparatus using the photosensitive member are provided.The photosensitive member comprises a charge generation layer and a charge transport layer on an electroconductive substrate. The charge transport layer contains a polymer in a phase separated state with a modulated structure, comprising an electrically inactive phase and a charge transporting phase. The amount of exposure required for 50% potential decay is less than 5 times the exposure amount required for 10% potential decay. The modulated structure includes, for example, a mixture of insulating polymer and charge transporting polymer and the like. The modulated structure can be formed by the method of separating a homogeneous phase of these polymers into two phases.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes: an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer provided on the conductive substrate; a charging unit for charging the electrophotographic photoreceptor; an exposure unit for exposing the charged electrophotographic photoreceptor to light thereby forming an electrostatic latent image; a developing unit for developing the electrostatic latent image with toner thereby forming a toner image; and a transfer unit for transferring the toner image from the electrophotographic photoreceptor to a transferred image-receiving medium. The exposure unit is a multi beam exposure unit which has a surface emitting laser array and which carries out the electrostatic latent image formation by scanning the electrophotographic photoreceptor with eight or more light beams where electrophotographic photoreceptor gives a quantum efficiency of 0.3 or higher when the electrophotographic photoreceptor is charged to a charged potential absolute value of 500 V and then irradiated with a monochromatic light of the same wavelength as that of the light beams to decay the charged potential absolute value to 250 V.
