Abstract:
The present invention provides a sheet supply apparatus with a sheet support for supporting a plurality of sheets, a first sheet absorb unit arranged facing a sheet surface of the sheet stack supported by the sheet support for absorbing the sheet by air suction, a second sheet absorb unit arranged facing a tip end of the sheet stack in a sheet supply direction for absorbing the sheet by air suction and a conveyer for conveying the sheet absorbed to the first and second sheet absorb units. The first sheet absorb unit and the second sheet absorb unit are respectively disposed at positions where the first sheet absorb unit is substantially parallel to the sheet surface and the second sheet absorb unit is inclined relative to the sheet surface. When a sheet stops a feeding unit operates in response to return the sheet to the sheet stack as the sheet is being absorbed by the first sheet absorb unit.
Abstract:
A separating apparatus for separating foreign matter from magnetic toner, includes a filter with openings allowing a toner to pass therethrough, a vibration generator for vibrating the filter in a substantially horizontal direction relative to a filter surface of the filter, and magnetic field generator for generating a magnetic field for attracting the magnetic toner through the filter.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a fixing device with a rotating member for performing a fixing operation by pinching and carrying a recording medium supporting an unfixed image. It separates a member pressing against the surface of the rotating member to separate the recording medium from the rotating member and its contact pressure is switchable between the first and second pressure, the second pressure being less than the first pressure and the switching taking place during the separation of the recording medium from the rotating member and after a front edge of the recording medium has separated.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus accurately determines the positions of image forming mirrors formed with an off-axis reflecting surface, while enabling any thermal expansion caused by a rise in temperature due to a rise in the surrounding temperature to be absorbed. Each image forming mirror formed with an off-axis reflecting surface comprises respective and independent units for determining the positions in the longitudinal direction, in the lateral position, and in the direction orthogonal to the reflecting surface. Holes with which the longitudinal position determining units and the lateral position determining units engage have gaps in the directions orthogonal to the position determining directions to absorb the thermal expansion caused by a rise in the temperature of the image forming mirror when the position determining units engage with the holes. Determination of the position of the reflecting surfaces of the image forming mirrors is carried out by urging faces provided on the reflecting surface side against the housing.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus has an original placing portion on which an original is placed, a feed portion for feeding the original placed on the original placing portion to convey the original from one end side of an original plate onto the original plate, a conveying rotary member for conveying the original on the original plate, a reversing and conveying portion for reversing the front side and back side of the original conveyed to the other end side of the original plate by the conveying rotary member, and conveying the reversed original from the other end side onto the original plate, an image reading unit for reading the image of the original stopped on the original plate while being moved, and a control portion for controlling the driving of the conveying rotary member. The control portion controls the conveying rotary member so as to stop the original conveyed from the one end side by the feed portion at a first reading position on the original plate, and stop the original conveyed from the other end side by the reversing and conveying portion at a second reading position on the original plate differing from the first reading position.
Abstract:
An image scanning device including: a conveyance path which conveys originals; a first scanning means and a second scanning means which are placed such that they sandwich the conveyance path; and a white reference member used for adjusting the white levels of the scanning means; wherein at least one of the first scanning means, the second scanning means and the white reference member is movable; the first scanning means and the second scanning means can scan the same surface of said white reference member since the first scanning means or the second scanning means is moved or the white reference member is moved.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus has: a setting unit; a sheet conveying unit; a reading unit which can read an image of the sheet conveyed onto the setting unit by the sheet conveying unit and can read the image of the sheet set onto the setting unit; and an abutting unit which abuts an edge of the sheet which is set onto the setting unit, said edge of the sheet crosses a sheet conveying direction of the sheet conveying unit. The abutting unit is provided at a position where it is not come into contact with the sheet conveyed by the sheet conveying unit.
Abstract:
The invention is to stabilize an amount of application of a glue to sheets, to stabilize adhesive force between the sheets, and to further improve the productivity of a glued sheet bundle. A sheet processing apparatus includes a processing tray 130 that stacks a sheet discharged by a pair of discharge rollers, an attitude changing unit 150 that displaces the aligned sheet bundle on the processing tray 130 to partially expose sheet surfaces, an adhesive agent delivery device 160 that applies a glue to the exposed parts of the sheet surfaces of the displaced sheet bundle on the processing tray 130, and a sheet bundle aligning portion such as aligning plates 140 and 141 that aligns the glued sheet bundle.
Abstract:
An object of this invention is to provide an image reading apparatus capable of reading an original image at high speed. And other object is to provide an image reading apparatus in which even when heat is generated at an inverter, reading operation is not influenced. In order to achieve these object, the image reading apparatus is comprised with a scanning means including, a light source for illuminating an original, an image pickup element for receiving reflected light from the original, a cabinet and an inverter provided at a vicinity of a side face of the cabinet in parallel with a direction of moving the light source for driving the light source, a communicating means provided at a vicinity of a side face of the cabinet opposed to the side face at the vicinity of the inverter and a cooling fan for cooling an interval between the inverter and the communicating means.
Abstract:
An original size sensing method for an apparatus which includes a photoelectric converter for reading an image of an original placed on a platen, and a light source for irradiating the original with light, determines the presence/absence of incidence of ambient light on the basis of an output from the photoelectric converter while the light source is kept off. When ambient light is found to be incident, the method determines the size of an original placed on the platen on the basis of that output from the photoelectric converter, which falls outside the range in which the ambient light is incident, while the light source is kept on.
