摘要: A controller reads a header information, which is input from a picture information acquisition unit, stores the header information in a storage unit, and reads a frame rate code corresponding to picture data to be displayed from the storage unit according to displayed time information contained in the header information. Furthermore, the controller sets the dot clock frequency in response to the read frame frequency in a dot clock output unit, outputs a display control signal to an output unit in order to compare the currently set frame frequency and the frame frequency just prior to the currently set frame frequency. If both flags are not in agreement, then the controller outputs a display control signal to the output unit wherein the display control signal indicates a picture set by the frame rate which differs from the just prior frame rate, and commands the dot clock output unit to switch a dot clock.

摘要: A program tamper detecting apparatus includes an external memory, an activation ROM and a CPU. The external memory stores a first code for program tamper detecting and a first program, wherein the first program is encrypted. The activation ROM stores a second program for decrypting the first program. The CPU is electrically connected to the external memory and the activation ROM. The CPU decrypts the first program by executing the second program to obtain the decrypted first program. The CPU detects tampering of the first program based on a comparison between the first code and a result of a predetermined operation executed on second codes of the decrypted first program.

摘要: When a head passes over a track with a projected item in a seek operation, the CPU delays a seek start time to conduct the seek by changing a period of time from a seek start position to a position of the track with a projected item. Or, the CPU conducts seek control by changing a speed table. Or, the CPU changes a sequence of items of a tag queue to obtain a seek locus not passing the projected item. By the control operation, a seek error due to thermal asperity is prevented and the head is not damaged. This also prevents appearance of a new projected item produced by contact between the magneto-resistive head and the projected item on the recording medium.

摘要: In a ball screw device comprising a screw shaft and a nut which make relative movement to each other through a multiplicity of balls, as well as in a linear motion device comprising an outer member and an inner member which make the relative movements to each other through the multiplicity of balls, a spacer having two concave surfaces facing respectively to balls, is disposed between the balls adjacent to each other. A section of each of the concave surfaces of the spacer is formed of two circular arcs of which central positions deviate from each other to form a Gothic arch. The spacer has such a configuration that the balls adjacent to each other come into contact with outer edges thereof or portions vicinal to the outer edges. The spacer also has such a configuration that the balls adjacent to each other come into contact with at least three or more outer edge portions thereof or portions vicinal to the outer edges. The spacer may have a through-hole formed in a thinnest portion thereof.

摘要: A frame-rate converting device in a moving picture decoder which realizes a smooth display of pictures at a frame rate of 30 Hz or 60 Hz based on stream data whose frame rate of 24 Hz is provided. A control section performs a 3:2 pull-down processing when the output frame rate is 24 Hz and when a re-display of picture is indicated. When a re-display of picture is not indicated, the control section detects that the picture is of a progressive material, and repeats one field every two frames. When the picture is not a progressive material, the control section determines whether the top and the bottom of the picture are of the same time instant and repeats one field every two frames when they are of the same time instant but repeats one frame every four frames when they are not of the same time instant.

摘要: An indicator including a transmittable indicator panel attached to a shielding holder (a housing), and a character or a graphic form indicated inside the indicator panel. The character or the graphic form is irradiated by a light emitting diode located inside the housing. The indicator panel is formed by a character indicating part that indicates a character or a graphic form and transmits light, a masking part that intercepts light by surrounding the character indicating part, and a transmittable margin that surrounds the masking part and transmits light. With this configuration, a character or a graphic form becomes conspicuous during the daytime, and at night is never more conspicuous than is required. Thus, the visibility of the indicator can be improved. Moreover, the configuration of the transmitting light from the light source of the indicator allows it to be accommodated in the limited space available on the indicator panel.
