A dual-channel hot standby system and a method for carrying out dual-channel hot standby, the system comprises a hot standby status management layer including two hot standby management units, an application processing layer including two application processors, and a data communication layer including two communicators; the hot standby status management layer is used for controlling the setting and switching between a active status and a standby status of the two application processors, monitoring the working status of the data communication layer, and carrying out synchronization of the control cycles for the two channels of the system; wherein one of the hot standby management units controls one of the application processors, and together constitute a channel of the system therewith; the data communication layer is used for receiving data from outside, and forwarding the data to the application processing layer. The present invention avoids the occurrence of “dual-channel-active” or “dual-channel-standby” status; ensures synchronization of the control cycles of two channels; reduces the time of the system for responding to breakdowns; meets the real-time requirements; enhances the reliability and availability of the system; and ensures a seamless switching between active and standby statuses.

A VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) box-wing aerial vehicle with multirotor to provide VTOL flight includes a detachable cabin, centered fuselage, a pair of first wings extending outward from the upper portion of the fuselage and a pair of second wings extending outwardly and from the lower portion of the fuselage. The first and second wings are spaced apart longitudinally and vertically. The pylon joints the first wing and second wing at the tip to form the box-wing. The pylon includes heading control rudder. Secured to the wing or pylon or both wing and pylon, an overhead boom extending longitudinally to support a plurality of lift rotors or tiltable rotors for VTOL flight. Finally, the overhead boom mounted tiltable rotors propel the vehicle forward to generate lift from the wings. Furthermore, the wings are equipped with elevators and ailerons for flight control.

An irreversible mathematical equation can be used to compute the identifying information and user's binary PIN to generate the validation Radio Frequency Identification signal.

A method for shared mesh restoration includes configuring a switch to allow sharing of a plurality of backup line cards across a plurality of node degrees associated with a reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM). The switch is communicatively coupled to the ROADM. The method further includes configuring a number of backup line cards coupled to the switch. The number of backup line cards is based on determining a number of active backup lightpaths for each of a plurality of network failures associated with each of the plurality of node degrees of the ROADM, identifying which node degree and failure has the largest number of active backup lightpaths for all of the plurality of node degrees of the ROADM and for each of the plurality of network failures, and determining the number of backup line cards to configure based on the identified largest number of active backup lightpaths.

The present invention discloses a method of NiSiGe epitaxial growth by introducing Al interlayer, comprising the deposition of an Al thin film on the surface of SiGe layer, subsequent deposition of a Ni layer on Al thin film and then the annealing process for the reaction between Ni layer and SiGe material of SiGe layer to form NiSiGe material. Due to the barrier effect of Al interlayer, NiSiGe layer features a single crystal structure, a flat interface with SiGe substrate and a thickness of up to 0.3 nm, significantly enhancing interface performance.

An assay system is provided in which gossypol is used as a biological marker to detect evolved resistance of insects to Bt cotton. Detection of gossypol using a monoclonal antibody ELISA-based protocol enables at risk populations of insects to be evaluated for evolved resistance to Bt present in a genetically modified cotton.The specificity of the monoclonal antibody to gossypol also enables the production of nanoparticles having a conjugated monoclonal antibody which retains the ability to selectively bind gossypol. Accordingly, nanoparticles can be provided with additional target ligands, such as antibodies, so as to specifically attach to tumors or cancer cells thereby delivering the gossypol to the target cells.
