    Abstract: Embodiments include methods for a user equipment (UE) configured to receive public warning system (PWS) messages from a radio access network (RAN) comprising a plurality of cells. Such methods include receiving, via a first cell having a first ground coverage and a first aerial coverage, a PWS message having a relevant area within a second ground coverage of a second cell but not within the first ground coverage. Such methods include determining whether the PWS message is applicable to the UE based on a first indication of the relevant area, a second indication of relevant altitudes for the PWS message, a third indication of applicability of the PWS message to aerial UEs, and/or a type of signaling by which the PWS message is received. Other embodiments include complementary methods for RAN nodes and core network (CN) nodes, as well as UEs and network nodes configured to perform such methods.

    Abstract: A transmitting UE schedules radio frequency resources for use in a data transmission. The transmitting UE determines the transmission bandwidth, subject to certain restrictions, such as allowed DFT sizes for the UE for a data transmission. The determination may be performed through autonomous resource selection operations and/or may be performed using information received through signaling received from the network node as part of a scheduling grant. The UE further determines the ALLOCATED BANDWIDTH. The ALLOCATED BANDWIDTH can be determined based on the TRANSMISSION BANDWIDTH, which has been determined, using a defined rule. Furthermore, the UE generates and transmits toward a receiving UE a scheduling assignment (SA) that indicates the number or the set of subchannels that are within, and conform to, the ALLOCATED BANDWIDTH which was determined. The UE can then perform the data transmission using the SA indicated number or set of subchannels.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method performed by a first wireless device (110) for device to device communication with a second wireless device (120). The method comprises determining a set of wireless communication resources to reserve for a transmission of data from the second wireless device (120) to the first wireless device (110), and reserving the determined set of wireless communication resources. The method further comprises informing the second wireless device (120) of the set of wireless communication resources determined for the transmission of data from the second wireless device (120) to the first wireless device (110), and receiving, from the second wireless device (120), data transmitted on any of the reserved set of wireless communication resources, or information that the second wireless device (120) is not going to use the reserved set of wireless communication resources.

    Abstract: According to some embodiments of inventive concepts, a method may be provided to operate a UE providing sidelink communications with other wireless devices. The method may include scheduling a first transmission from the UE, wherein the first transmission has a first priority. The method may also include scheduling a second transmission from the UE, wherein the second transmission has a second priority, wherein the first priority is greater than the second priority, and wherein the first and second transmissions are scheduled for transmission during a time interval. The method may further include transmitting the first transmission during the time interval, and responsive to determining a violation of a timing limit corresponding to scheduling the first and second transmissions during the time interval and responsive to the first priority being greater than the second priority, dropping transmitting the second transmission during the time interval.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for resource allocation in a D2D network (100) are disclosed for reducing resource collisions among wireless devices (200) engaged in device-to-device (D2D) communications. In D2D communications, each wireless device (200) selects a radio resource for signal transmissions and retains the selected resource until a reselection becomes necessary. During the transmission, the wireless device (200) detects a triggering condition for resource reselection. Responsive to the triggering condition, the wireless device (200) performs resource reselection according to a reselection rule that is designed to reduce resource collisions among wireless devices (200).
