    摘要: A webbing take-up device enabling a reduction in size of an overload release mechanism and easy adjustment of an operation torque of the overload release mechanism is provided. In the overload release mechanism of this webbing take-up device, rotary force of a large diameter gear is transmitted to a small diameter gear via plural annular friction springs. The friction springs are disposed between an inner periphery face of a main body portion of the large diameter gear and a tubular portion of the small diameter gear, side by side along an axial direction of the two gears. Consequently, a radial direction enlargement of the large diameter gear and small diameter gear due to space for disposing the friction springs may be restrained. Moreover, the operation torque of the overload release mechanism may be adjusted stepwise by changing the number of the friction springs to be used, in accordance with requirements.

    摘要: In a webbing retractor, due to operation of a pretensioner mechanism, a stopper wire is moved, and second lock pawls of a second lock base mesh-together with an inner ratchet of a lock ring. In this way, a limit load by a torsion shaft can be switched to a high load. Therefore, immediately after operation of the pretensioner mechanism, the limit load by the torsion shaft can be made to be to the high load, and the limit load can be made to be the high load at an early stage.

A rotation disc, the torque limiter or the like is wholly disposed, along a radial direction of the external gear, between the external gear and a peripheral wall of a baseplate. Further, members such as pawls, a rotation disc and the like are disposed, along a radial direction of the peripheral wall, between the peripheral wall and an adaptor, and these members are accommodated at an inner side of the external gear. Consequently, a thickness dimension (axial direction dimension) of a clutch is practically the same as an axial direction dimension of the external gear, and this is extremely thin.

    摘要: An air bag cover structure comprising an air bag cover main body and an insert member. The air bag cover main body has an upper wall portion, a bag body which inflates toward a vehicle occupant when a vehicle suddenly decelerates being accommodated between the upper wall portion and a base plate, the upper wall portion being pushed by the bag body, which is expanding, so that the upper wall portion unfolds, and the air bag cover main body having a side wall portion which includes a center of unfolding of the upper wall portion when the upper wall portion unfolds. The insert member has a first insert portions, which is embedded in the air bag cover main body by insert molding and which is positioned at the upper wall portion when the first insert portion is in an embedded state, and a second insert portion, which is provided integrally with the first insert portion and which is positioned at the side wall portion so as to be supported by the base plate when the second insert portion is embedded in the air bag cover main body. The length of the second insert portion in a direction substantially along the axis of the unfolding center narrows from the position at which the first insert portion and the second insert portion are connected.

    摘要: A lock-type seat belt retractor including a ratchet mechanism, an inertia member which senses shock to the automobile, and a transmitting mechanism which transmits a movement of the inertia member to a pawl of the ratchet mechanism. The inertia member senses the shock by its relative motion to the transmitting mechanism. The transmitting mechanism includes a rod which moves in response to movement of the inertia member and pushes up a lever to raise the pawl. When the pawl engages with a tooth of a ratchet wheel, the seat belt is locked. The transmitting mechanism further includes a member which supports the rod and the inertia member. The support member swings relative to the automobile body so that this retractor can be locked reliably regardless of its angular position.

    摘要: A webbing retractor has two torque transmitting routes for taking-up, such that rapid and reliable taking-up, and gentle taking-up are possible. When an engaging claw of a pawl restricts rotation of a ratchet plate, due to planetary gears rotating around a sun gear, rotation is transmitted from a drive gear to a carrier plate. On the other hand, when restriction of rotation of the ratchet plate is released, a clutch spring tightens around a tube portion of the carrier plate while rotation of the drive gear pulls one peripheral direction end of the clutch spring in a direction of rotation thereof. Frictional resistance between the tube portion and the clutch spring is increased, and rotation is transmitted from the drive gear to the carrier plate.

Accordingly, in the steering wheel, when kinetic energy from the body of the vehicle occupant due to inertia at the time of a rapid deceleration of the vehicle acts on the steering wheel, and presses the rim of the steering wheel by a pressing force (a load) at a predetermined value or more, the supporting member for supporting the rim from inside thereby deforms. As a result, kinetic energy of the body of the vehicle occupant due to inertia at the time of the rapid deceleration of the vehicle can be absorbed.
