摘要: A pad for an air bag apparatus is provided which assures that a part of the pad between a breakage portion and a side wall portion is not scattered away in pieces when the air bag expands. The pad includes an upper wall portion and side wall portions extending downward from the periphery of the upper wall portion. Cover portions adapted to be opened upon breakage of a breakage portion at the time of expansion of the air bag are formed over the upper wall portion. A predetermined number of vertically extending triangular plate-shaped ribs are integrally molded with the upper wall portion and the side wall portions along the periphery of the breakage portion and extend from the side wall portions to the breakage portion.

摘要: An air bag apparatus includes a pad provided with a mounting piece portion extending downwardly from a bottom surface of the pad and having mounting holes. The mounting piece portion is fixed to a side wall of a bag holder in a state in which the mounting piece portion is held between a backplate and the side wall of the bag holder by rivets inserted into the mounting holes of the mounting piece portion and into mounting holes of the side wall of the bag holder and mounting holes of the backplate. Engagement portions for regulating an upward movement of the mounting piece portion are formed at a lower end portion of the mounting piece portion and the backplate except at those portions below the mounting holes. The engagement portions are formed to be recesses and projections which are adapted to engage are another.

摘要: In order to simplify the fabrication process, form a lightweight air bag device and increase safety by reliably preventing damage to an insert during the inflation of an air bag, a pad according to the present invention includes a pad body made of a soft synthetic resin, such as urethane, and an insert 14 formed of a synthetic resin plate material with a shape-retaining characteristic. The insert 14 includes a substantially square cylindrical base portion 16 and two opening portions 18A, 18B integrally connected to the base portion via hinge portions 17A, 17B. Arcuate, gradual shape-changing portions 23, 24 are formed at the boundary edge portions between the base portion 16 and the hinge portions 17A, 17B and at boundary edge portions between the opening portions 18A, 18B and the hinge portions 17A, 17B, respectively to distribute stresses and minimize breakage.

摘要: A pad of air bag apparatus which, as a molded part, has an enhanced soft touch and which is protected against accelerated time-dependent changes in the physical properties of the pad's core and skin layers, wherein the pad covers the upper surface of an air bag apparatus which is to be mounted on the steering wheel of an automobile or in any other necessary areas. The pad includes of a skin layer formed of a soft first resin material and a core layer formed of a second resin material harder than the first resin material. The first resin material is a styrenic thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) or olefinic TPE having a hardness (JIS A) of 70 and less whereas the second resin material is a polyester based TPE having a flexural modulus of 1,000-4,000 kgf/cm.sup.2 (98-392 MPa) or a polyurethane based TPE having a flexural modulus of 1,000-2,500 kgf/cm.sup.2 (98-245 MPa).

摘要: A pad assembly for an air bag device is provided which has a horn switch, and is directed to readily ensure adequate operation load of a switch, to improve productivity and to preventing an increase in the thickness of the portion of the pad where the switch is located. A pad 10 for an air bag device M is disposed on a steering wheel W, has an upper wall 11 and a side wall 12 extending downward from the peripheral edge of the upper wall 11, and further includes a horn switch. The pad 10 includes a covering layer 14 made of a soft synthetic resin, a hard insert 15 embedded in the side wall 12 of the pad 10, and a pressure sensitive switch 18 having metal sheets 19, 20 and 21 which offer a shape-retaining property and functioning as the horn switch. The pressure sensitive switch 18 is disposed on a rear surface of the upper wall 11 of the pad 10 with end portions 19 a, 20a and 21a thereof retained by the insert 15.

摘要: This invention provides a fluid control device capable of making compact a fluid control device in which a valve and a limit switch are combined. A valve 6 includes a piston 26 as a moving member which includes a protruding portion protruding from an opening of a casing 21, and which linearly moves according to opening and closing of the valve 6 so as to abut against a limit switch 7. The limit switch 7 is made to face the piston 26 and is attached via a limit switch positioning unit 8 so as to be adjustable about its position. The limit switch positioning unit 8 includes a first bolt 42 fixed to a body 2, a second bolt 43 fixed to the limit switch 7, and a connection screw 44 which connects both the bolts 42, 43. The first bolt 42 and the second bolt 43 have different pitches from each other.

Based on these calculated values, a gradient of a tire-characteristic curve indicating an amount of change in road-surface friction coefficient with respect to an amount of change in slip rate is calculated, and the calculated gradient of the tire-characteristic curve is compared with preset threshold values, whereby a road-surface friction coefficient as a road-surface condition can be determined.

摘要: A drill according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a body part and a cutting part with a cylinder-like shape. The cutting part includes two cutting edges located separately from each other at a front end portion of the cutting part, two flutes which are continuous with each of the two cutting edges and extend spirally toward a rear end portion of the cutting part, and a clearance which extends spirally from a side of the front end portion to a side of the rear end portion, and is recessed inward in reference to a periphery of the cutting part in a sectional view. The cutting part includes a first joining flute including at least one of the two flutes and the clearance being joined together. The first joining flute includes a bottom surface being outwardly protruding curve-like line in a sectional view. A method of manufacturing a machined product using the drill is also provided.
