    摘要: An image-taking apparatus which captures object light to take an image includes: an optical device through which the object light is transmitted; an image pickup device which generates an image signal representing an object image; and a cleaning section which is deformed by receiving a predetermined stimulus, the cleaning section being brought into contact with, and being separated from, the optical device and/or the image pickup device to clean substances attached to the contact portion. The apparatus further includes: a stimulus application section which applies the stimulus to the cleaning section; and a control section which controls the deformation of the cleaning section by controlling the stimulus applied from the stimulus application section, and which thus causes the cleaning section to clean the contact portion.

    摘要: The waveform equalizing device includes: an FIR filter for generating an equalized signal pattern y(i, n) on the basis of equalization of a waveform of the reproduced signal pattern u(i, n); a Viterbi decoding circuit for detecting a path metric difference s(n) between a correct path determined as a survivor path and an error path which fails to survive the correct path in Viterbi decoding based on the equalized signal pattern y(i, n); a target register for setting a target value ds for the path metric difference s(n); and a tap coefficients update circuit for adapting the equalization according to an error of the detected path metric difference from the target value. The tap coefficients update circuit adapts equalization properties so that the mean square error is minimized, thereby achieving a satisfactory result in lowering the error rate.

    摘要: There is provided a signal evaluation apparatus and signal evaluation method capable of consistently measuring an accurate bit error rate regardless of the distribution profile of the difference of likelihoods (difference metrics) of data sequences. In the signal evaluation apparatus for decoding data sequences by means of maximum likelihood decoding, at least one pair of paths between which a distance has a minimum value are selected by a path selector circuit 10. With regard to the paths selected by the path selector circuit 10, a difference metric obtained by a difference metric calculator circuit 9 is statistically processed by a μ- and σ-calculator circuit 13 to calculate a bit error rate. Then, the bit error rate is corrected by correction means (11, 12, 14) on the basis of the number of measurement samples of the paths selected by the path selector circuit 10 and the number of all samples.
