摘要: A compact ultrasound needle guidance system and method of use is described. The needle guidance system has components to adjustably target a needle's destination in the plane of a two-dimensional ultrasound image before insertion of a needle into a patient. Needle movement is tracked using a position detector that provides a visual display of the needle path on the ultrasonic image.

摘要: A vial adapter is described comprising a housing, the housing comprising an expandable chamber to contain a volume, an internal passage in communication with the expandable chamber, at least one opening in communication with the internal passage, and an access member integral with the housing. A hollow spike comprising a proximal end is integral with the housing and a distal end. The spike comprises a vent lumen open at the distal end and a fluid lumen open at the distal end, the vent lumen is in communication with the internal passage and the fluid lumen is in communication with the access member. A first check valve restricts communication from the expandable chamber to the internal passage, and a second check valve restricts communication from the internal passage to the opening. Methods of reconstituting and/or withdrawing hazardous material using the vial adapter are described.

摘要: The present invention relates to a device for controlling movement of a catheter that is at least partially disposed therein a urinary catheter pouch. More particularly, the device relates to a catheter movement control device for use with a urinary catheter pouch which allows a user to selectively remove at least a portion of the catheter from the pouch, and prevents the catheter from moving back into the pouch once the catheter has been deployed unless and until the user desires to move the catheter back into the catheter pouch.

摘要: A valved fluid connector reversibly attachable to a standard female connector and providing a flow channel between them comprising a tubular member, an elastic member surrounding at least a portion of the proximal end of the tubular member, the elastic member reversibly sealing the tubular member. When the valved fluid connector is engaged with a standard female connector device, the female connector urges the elastic member of the valved male connector into a stretched position to open the valve and permit fluid communication between the devices.

摘要: The present invention relates to a device for controlling movement of a catheter that is at least partially disposed therein a urinary catheter pouch. The invention particularly relates to a catheter movement control device for use with a urinary catheter pouch which aids in preventing the catheter from moving back into the pouch once the catheter has been deployed. The device makes it easier to use a urinary catheter contained in a urinary catheter pouch. This is especially true for those with disabilities that would have difficulty gripping the catheter within the pouch.

摘要: A shoe releasing assembly for use with an orthotic bar or splint is disclosed. The shoe releasing assembly comprises a bar attachment member securable to a bar or splint, a shoe attachment member securable to the sole of a shoe, and latching means to secure the bar and shoe members. The bar attachment member comprises a base, wall section at least partially surrounding the base. The shoe attachment member comprises a shoe attachment base, a shoe attachment wall section at least partially surrounding the shoe attachment base. The attachment members comprise a wall section defining a recess and the corresponding members comprise a wall section having a shape conforming to the recess for vertically inclined insertion into the recess. Latching means are provided for receiving, releasably securing the shoe attachment member to the bar attachment member, and disengaging of the shoe attachment member from the bar attachment member.

摘要: The present invention relates to a urinary catheter gripping device for use with a urinary catheter located within a urinary catheter pouch. In one aspect, the urinary catheter pouch has a port defined in its exterior surface, whereby the port is in communication with the interior cavity of the urinary catheter pouch. In this aspect, the urinary catheter is substantially disposed therein the pouch and is configured to selectively pass therethrough the port. The gripping device can be positioned on the pouch at any convenient location that aids in the holding of the catheter.
