摘要:
A device for providing a fluid to a target tissue region of a body vessel is described. The device includes an elongate member having a lumen to receive a fluid, and a structure deployable from a distal portion of the elongate member to channel blood flowing in the vessel. Also described are a method of, and a system for, providing a fluid to a target tissue region inside a body.

A closure device or system seals or closes an opening in a body cavity. The closure device is deployed proximate to an entry site to the body cavity. A needle or instrument is inserted through the closure to form an incision through the body wall to insert a treatment device or instrument. Following withdrawal of the treatment device or instrument, the closure device seals or closes the incision.
摘要:
Improved methods and apparatus for capturing emboli and subsequently removing or immobilizing the captured emboli are described. Emboli can be captured within a blood vessel and can be withdrawn to a position exterior to the blood vessel. Some filters can remain within a blood vessel yet direct emboli to a position exterior to the blood vessel.
摘要:
A medical device comprises a catheter having a catheter shaft and a medical balloon positioned thereon, as well as a rotatable assembly disposed about the balloon. The balloon has a pre-expansion state and an expanded state. The rotatable assembly comprises a sheath, wherein the sheath is disposed about the balloon in both the pre-expansion state and in the expanded state. The sheath is rotatable about the balloon in the pre-expansion state. The sheath comprises an inner layer and an outer layer, the inner layer is in rotatable contact with the balloon and the outer layer is disposed about the inner layer. The inner layer is at least partially constructed of at least one material having a durometer value greater than that of the outer layer.
摘要:
The present invention generally relates to the field of intravascular medical devices, and more specifically to the field of balloon catheters and other similar diagnostic or therapeutic catheters within the body for treatment and diagnosis of diseases. In particular, the present invention relates to reinforced balloon catheters and drug-eluting balloon catheters and corresponding methods for producing same.

A laser shock peening process for producing one or more compressive residual stress regions in a medical device is disclosed. A high-energy laser apparatus can be utilized to direct an intense laser beam through a confining medium and onto the target surface of a workpiece. An absorption overlay disposed on the target surface of the workpiece absorbs the laser beam, inducing a pressure shock wave that forms a compressive residual stress region deep within the workpiece. Medical devices such as stents and guidewires having one or more of these compressive residual stress regions are also disclosed.

A catheter assembly comprises a catheter shaft having a device receiving portion, an expandable balloon disposed about the device receiving portion, and a sheath. The sheath has an outer surface and an inner surface defining an inner lumen. The outer surface and inner surface has a sheath wall extending there between. The outer surface has slits therethrough which extend into the sheath wall. The sheath has an expanded state and an unexpanded state such that the sheath maintains the substantially same longitudinal length in the expanded state and the unexpanded state.
摘要:
A medical device that inhibits distortion of medical resonance images taken of the device. In particular, various structures are utilized to allow visibility proximate, and inside of, a tubular member, such as a stent. In one embodiment, the stent is constructed such that any closed path encircling at least a circumference of the stent will pass through at least two materials to reduce or eliminate electrical loops formed in the stent.
