摘要: The present invention includes a method for treating an individual suffering from decompression sickness, a gas mixture that can be used to treat the individual, and an apparatus that can be used to administer the gas mixture. The method includes administering a gas mixture of oxygen and a therapeutically effective amount of nitric oxide gas to the individual. The gas mixture can include a mixture of oxygen, helium and, nitric oxide gases. The gas mixture can be administered using an apparatus that can be worn by the individual. The apparatus includes dispensers for gases, a gas blender to mix the gases, an inspiratory passage, a face mask substantially conformable with the individual's face, and an expiratory passage. When the individual wearing the face mask inhales, the gas mixture travels from the gas blender, through the inspiratory passage to the face mask. The gas mixture is then inhaled by the individual. When the individual exhales a breath, the breath travels from the face mask through the expiratory passage.

摘要: A method for transpulmonary cooling by providing a liquid having a boiling point of 38-300° C., more preferably 38-250° C., more preferably 38-200° C., more preferably 38-150° C., more preferably 38-80° C. The liquid is nebulized to form a mist. The mist is optionally cooled below room temperature and delivered to the airway of a patient so that the patient inhales the mist. The mist causes systemic cooling by evaporative heat loss when inhaled at room temperature and additionally by direct heat transfer when inhaled below room temperature. Compositions and medical devices for transpulmonary cooling are also provided.

摘要: A security system comprising an audible alarm with a microphone within acoustic range of the audible alarm. A storage circuit configured to store at least one acoustic fingerprint. A processing circuit coupled to the storage circuit and configured to create a first acoustic fingerprint from a first signal from the microphone and save the first acoustic fingerprint on the storage circuit. The processing circuit further configured to create a second acoustic fingerprint from a second signal from the microphone and compare the first acoustic fingerprint to the second acoustic fingerprint. The processing circuit further configured to transmit a set of data if the first acoustic fingerprint matches the second acoustic fingerprint. A transmitter coupled to the processing circuit and configured to transmit the set of data. The security system has the advantage to be installed without using wire connections to existing alarm systems or decode their radio frequencies.

摘要: The present invention includes a transient method of delivering a biological agent in a breathable liquid to a lung of a patient. The present invention includes a steady state method of delivering a biological agent in a breathable liquid to a lung of a patient. The steps of both the transient delivery method and the steady state delivery method can be controlled by a servo-control unit. A supplementary biological agent delivery step can be performed in both the transient method of delivering a biological agent and the steady state method of delivering a biological agent.
