摘要： A magnetic device includes a write element having a write element tip that defines a medium confronting surface. The write element is operable to generate a first field at the medium confronting surface. A conductor is proximate the write element tip and first and second conductive leads are connected to the conductor and configured to deliver a current to the conductor to generate a second field that augments the first field. First and second side elements are disposed on opposite sides of the write element tip in a cross-track direction at the medium confronting surface. At least a portion of the first conductive lead is disposed adjacent the first side element on a side opposite the medium confronting surface, and at least a portion of the second conductive lead is disposed adjacent the second side element on a side opposite the medium confronting surface.

摘要： The present invention concerns an endoprosthesis for an artificial hip-joint, the endoprosthesis including a shank (1) having an adapter (2) at one of its ends. A ballhead (4) is fitted with a recess (6) detachably engaged by the adapter (2) while retaining the ballhead. The adapter (2) and the recess (6) are cylindrical, whereby the ballhead (4) is axially adjustable. A device is provided for retaining the ballhead (4) in various axial positions relative to the adapter (2). Accordingly, the ballhead (4) is adjustable with respect to its axial position and thereby its distance from the adapter (2) or the shank (1) is likewise adjustable. This feature eliminates the need to stock different ballheads matching different anatomic particulars.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for recording longitudinal track bundles on an information medium. The method involves recording tracking information in special tracks in said track bundles. The special tracks are contiguous between each other. When recording a new track bundle a recording and/or reading head may be positioned using tracking information contained in special tracks of a previously recorded track bundle. Several examples of patterns used for coding tracking information in the special tracks we described.
