摘要: Guide catheter unibody and method for manufacturing such a catheter. In one preferred embodiment, the present invention is a unibody guide catheter for use in percutaneous transluminal angioplasty procedures. The catheter includes a base layer and a structural layer formed over the base layer. The structural layer includes strands which cross at a plurality of points, the strands being attached together for structural integrity at a substantial number of points where they cross. The structural layer may be at least partially embedded in the base layer. Additionally, a cover layer is formed over the structural layer.

摘要: Catheter and method of manufacturing such catheter. The catheter includes an elongate shaft having an interior lumen extending therethrough. The interior surface of the lumen is geometrically configured to reduce friction and increase catheter performance. Additionally, the geometrically configured inside surface allows dye or blood to perfuse past the distal end of the catheter when engaged in the coronary artery. The catheter may also include a geometrically configured outer surface at its distal end having perfusion channels to allow blood to perfuse past the distal end of the catheter during catheter engagement.

The monitor module is configured to sense when an object, such as a person, enters a defined zone proximate to the fireplace. The monitor module may use a variety of techniques to sense when an object enters the defined zone. For example, the monitor module may use capacitance or pulse infrared light to detect when an object enters the defined zone. The alarm module is coupled to the monitor module to generate an alarm when the monitor module senses that the object has entered the defined zone. The alarm may be audible or visual.

摘要: A standoff arm and probe assembly for a helicopter has a standoff mounting arm that extends outwardly from the helicopter body in a selected direction, preferably forwardly. The standoff arm has an outer end that mounts a low lateral speed sensing probe that is positioned with an axis substantially parallel to the axis of a helicopter rotor, and within the downwash region of air movement causes by the rotor. The low lateral speed sensing probe has ports that are arranged annularly around the probe, and the pressures sensed at selected annular or peripheral locations on the probe are measured to determine low air speeds. Additionally, the standoff arm can mount a plurality of other sensors such as a pitot pressure probe extending forwardly from the arm, a lateral pressure sensing probe along a lateral side of the arm, and the arm can mount outside air temperature sensors, ice detectors, and total air temperature sensors, if desired.

摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided for such uses as attaching grafts of tubing (e.g., lengths of saphenous vein) between sites in a patient's body via the patient's existing arteries and veins. Grafts may be held in place during graft delivery using a partially inflated proximal balloon and a partially inflated distal balloon which frictionally engage axially spaced portions of the graft (e.g., pronged attachment rings that pierce the graft adjacent its ends). After aligning the distal balloon and distal end of the graft with the distal attachment site, the distal balloon may be further inflated to help attach the distal end of the graft to the distal attachment site (e.g., by driving the prongs of the distal attachment ring into the distal attachment site). The proximal balloon may then be inflated to similarly help attach the proximal end of the graft to the proximal attachment site. The balloons are deflated to facilitate withdrawal of the apparatus from the installed graft. The insertion instrument allows the distance between the distal and proximal balloons to be adjusted, thereby accommodating grafts of various lengths. The separation between distal and proximal balloons may be fixed or substantially fixed using a locking mechanism.
