Abstract:
A method and system for performing multicast broadcast handover in a wireless data network are disclosed. Each cell broadcasts administrative announcements over a logical channel to mobile terminals. The announcements indicate which multicast broadcasts are available in specified cells, as well as connection information for each cell. The mobile terminals may tune to a multicast broadcast as defined by the administrative announcements. While tuned to the multicast, the mobile terminal continues to receive administrative announcements. As the broadcast fades out or is otherwise interrupted, the mobile terminal can retune to the same multicast broadcast in another cell, based on the cell connection information included in the previously received administrative announcements.
Abstract:
A method for sending a data packet, which directly or indirectly indicates a quality-of-service requirement, to a mobile node from a correspondent node via a multi-bearer network, or MBN, that provides at least one interface unit to each of multiple alternative bearer networks between the MBN and the mobile node includes, in one embodiment, selecting an optimal bearer network for sending a data packet between the MBN and the mobile node based on the quality-of-service requirement of the data packet in question; traffic load data related to the multiple bearers; interface unit availability information; and bearer type preference information.
Abstract:
An arrangement and method for implementing multicasting in IP networks, in which multicast packets are transmitted along a multicast tree from one transmitter through several multicast controllers to several recipients is discussed. In the method at least one multicast tree intended for control messages is generated in the network from a network multicast controller to cell-level multicast controllers. The network multicast controller transmits along the multicast tree control messages to the cell-level multicast controllers. The control messages contain information on the network multicast and a command to connect to the network multicast tree intended for multicasts.
Abstract:
A network access sequence for a mobile node (MN) in one or more foreign domains (FD). A foreign domain sends (A1) service advertisement messages (M1), each of which comprises an identifier (41) of the message, network address information (43) and a detailed service offering (42). The mobile node stores (A2) the detailed service offerings and selects one of them. Then it sends a service request message (M2) to the foreign domain which sent the selected service offering (62). The service request indicates (55) the selected service offering (62) and the mobile node's credentials (54). The foreign domain conveys the credentials to the mobile node's home domain (HD) for authentication and authorization and checks (A4) if the selected service offering (62) can be supported. Next the foreign domain (FD) allocates communication resources for supporting the selected service offering and indicates (M9) to the mobile node the availability of the requested service.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to the application of 5-methyl-1,3-benzenediol or its derivatives represented by Formula I; wherein the constituent variables are as defined herein or pharmaceutical compositions thereof containing them in the preparation of medicines or functional foods. The present studies indicate that 5-methyl-1,3-benzenediol or its derivatives represented by Formula I, wherein the constituent variables are as defined herein or pharmaceutical compositions thereof containing them show more significant antidepressant effects than fluoxetine or imipramine.
Abstract:
Embodiments are directed to tracking variable location information in optimized code and efficiently collecting and storing reaching definition information. A computer system receives a portion of source code at a compiler, where the compiler is configured to compile and optimize the source code for execution. The computer system tags selected variables in the source code with a tag, where the tag is configured to provide location information for the variable. The computer system optimizes the received portion of source code including changing at least one of the tagged variables. The computer system also tracks the tagged variables as the variables are changed by the compiler during code optimization and persists the variable location information, so that the persisted variable location information is available to other compiler components.
Abstract:
Systems, apparatus, articles, and methods are described including operations to detect a face based at least in part on video data. A region of interest and a background region may be determined based at least in part on the detected face. The background region may be modified to have a reduced image quality.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for the manufacture of a compound of formula (I) wherein Hal represents fluoro or chloro, and R1 and R2 represent, independently from one another, hydrogen or Hal; in which process a compound of formula (II) is converted to a corresponding alkyl, fluoroalkyl or aryl sulfonic acid ester, which is then reacted with an alkali metal nitrite in the presence of a suitable crown ether in a polar non-nucleophilic solvent at a temperature of −10 to 50° C. to give the compound of formula (I).
