A continuous FRTP prepreg manufacturing apparatus comprises an extruder, a crosshead having a main body internally provided with a resin chamber for containing a molten thermoplastic resin extruded therein by the extruder and joined to the discharge end of the extruder, a cooling unit disposed outside and near the exit of the main body of the crosshead, and a winding unit for taking up a prepreg. A fiber bundle inlet unit and a fiber bundle outlet nozzle unit are provided respectively at one end and at the other end of the main body of the crosshead. Guide rollers and impregnating rollers are arranged within the main body of the crosshead so that a tension is applied to the fiber bundle during impregnation or so that the fiber bundle is expanded during impregnation and is condensed after impregnation. The resin-impregnated fiber bundle is heated to a temperature higher than the melting point of the thermoplastic resin at the fiber bundle outlet nozzle unit, and then the resin-impregnated fiber bundle is cooled to a temperature below the melting point of the thermoplastic resin immediately after being delivered from the fiber bundle outlet nozzle unit to form a continuous FRTP prepreg.

A laminated type heat exchanger includes a plurality of refrigerant passages which are formed by pairs of core plates. Each core plate comprises an outer covering layer, a core layer, and an inner covering layer. The outer covering layer is made of a brazing material of which electric potential is more negative than the core layer while the inner covering layer is made of a brazing material of which electric potential is equal to or more positive than the core layer. The refrigerant passages are formed by brazing only the adjacent two of the inner covering layer. The outer covering layer works as a sacrificial corrosive material with respect to the inner covering layer and the core layer. Leakage of refrigerant from the brazed portions of the core plates is prevented, whereby the corrosion resistance of the laminated type heat exchanger is improved.

A heat exchanger for using an evaporator of an automotive air conditioner comprises a plurality of tube units and a plurality of corrugated fins. A pair of plates are connected each other for forming the tube unit. The plate has an elongating portion at an outer peripheral of the connecting portion at which one plate is connected to another plate. The elongating portion elongates from the connecting portion to the corrugated fin, but there exists some gap between the elongating portion and the corrugated fin. So that a draining space is formed within the connecting portion and the elongating portion of the plate and the corrugate fin. Since no surface tension is occurred between the elongating portion and the corrugated fin, the condensed water introduced into the drawing space can be drained effectively.

A heat exchanger has special usage such as an evaporator of an automotive air conditioner. This heat exchanger can improve wettability and can reduce a scattering of condensed water. This heat exchanger is treated by a special chemical conversion treatment so that this heat exchanger has two layers of coating on the surface thereof. One of the two layers is a chemical conversion coating formed on the surface of the heat exchanger. The other one is a resin coating formed over the chemical conversion coating. The chemical conversion coating is treated by immersing the heat exchanger into a water solution. The resin coating is also treated by immersing the heat exchanger having the chemical conversion coating into a water solution of organic high polymer material.

A multi-layer type heat exchanger is formed by a row of parallel flat tubes each having tank portions spaced widthwise of the flat tube and disposed adjacent to one end thereof. Each tube defines therein a passage for a heat transfer fluid extending from one tank portion towards the other end of the tube and is then turned to the other tank portion. The flat tubes are stacked such that the tank portions are connected together in fluid-flow communication with each other. The portions of each adjacent pair of tubes excepting the tank portions are spaced apart to accommodate a corrugated fin. Two adjacent core plates of each adjacent pair of tubes have bent end portions extending to and engaged with each other or integrally connected together to support the other ends of the adjacent tubes in spaced relationship to accommodate the fin therebetween.
