Abstract:
A fracturing liquid delivery hose for recovery of shale oil and gas, and manufacturing method and co-extrusion mold thereof are provided. The method includes extrusion of a cover layer with a first adhesive layer and an inner lining layer with a second adhesive layer, formation of an enhancement layer, heating and pressurizing for bonding between the cover layer and the enhancement layer and between the inner lining layer and the enhancement layer, so that the formed fracturing liquid delivery hose has resistance at least to high pressure and chemical corrosion. The cover layer and the inner lining layer can use different types of materials.
Abstract:
An assembly and process for forming a two stage extruded pipe having a central inner sleeve and a pair of outer attached lobes. The central sleeve shaped (also termed a grout receiving tube) is produced in an initial extrusion operation, following which it enters a cross head operation where a pair of outer lobes are attached to cross sectional exterior surface locations according to a second stage extrusion operation so as to be integrally formed therewith. Other steps include cooling of the dual stage extruded pipe, as well as sectioning and stacking the pipe. Additional steps include forming elongated slots or apertures into the central sleeve portion of the finished extrusion, such in non-interfering fashion with the individual passageway defining and lobes.
Abstract:
A die and a method for impregnating fiber rovings with a polymer resin are disclosed. The die includes a manifold assembly (220), an impregnation zone (250), and a gate passage (270). The manifold assembly (220) flows the resin therethrough, and includes a channel (222). The impregnation zone (250) is in fluid communication with the manifold assembly (220), and is configured to impregnate the roving with the resin. The gate passage (270) is between the manifold assembly (220) and the impregnation zone (250), and flows the resin from the manifold assembly (220) such that the resin coats the roving. The gate passage (270) includes a projection (300). The projection (300) is configured to diffuse resin flowing through the gate passage (270).
Abstract:
A charging roller includes a conductive base material, a conductive adhesive layer that has a gel fraction equal to or greater than 50% on an outer circumferential surface of the base material, and a conductive elastic layer on the adhesive layer.
Abstract:
A multi-component synthetic closure and/or a rod-shaped intermediate product which incorporate printed indicia comprising ink that is invisible under normal lighting and/or temperature conditions and a continuous, in-line manufacturing process therefor are described. In the preferred embodiment of the present disclosure, the core member of the synthetic closure and/or the rod-shaped intermediate product can be formed by a continuous extrusion process which enables the core to be manufactured as an elongated, continuous length of material. As the continuous elongated length of extruded material forming the central core is advanced from the extruder towards an outer skin forming station, the central core passes through a printing station for forming any desired indicia among which can be a registration mark that can be invisible under normal lighting and/or temperature conditions on the outer surface of the central core prior to the application of the outer skin layer.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses an assembly and process for creating a co-extruded pipe which includes the steps of extruding a first elongated component exhibiting an open interior. Additional process steps include co-extruding at least one, and typically a pair, of additional elongated components each having an arcuate or lobe cross sectional shape or profile. The additional components are bonded to exterior locations of the first component to establish a pair of additional open interiors between the components and prior to cooling and hardening.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to make it possible to provide a cord, in particular, a cord for reinforcing a rubber article in which rubber permeation properties are improved by coating filaments as constituents of the cord with rubber in a reliable and stable manner. The cord of the present invention is produced by, when the metal filament is guided to an extruder and extruded together with rubber from a mouthpiece of the extruder so that the metal filament is coated with the rubber, juxtaposing plural metal filaments in the mouthpiece and extruding the metal filaments together with rubber.
Abstract:
A method of forming an elongated composite element includes providing an elongated tubular member and establishing a plurality of holes through an outer wall of the elongated tubular member. A polymeric resin is provided that comprises a curable material that, when uncured, comprises a fluid material and that, when cured, comprises a substantially rigid material. The uncured polymeric resin is extruded along the elongated tubular member, whereby the polymeric resin flows at least partially through the holes and is disposed within the inner cavity and at an outer surface of the outer wall of the elongated tubular member. The polymeric resin is cured to form the composite element whereby the cured polymeric resin limits flexing of the at least one elongated tubular member and the elongated composite element.
Abstract:
Cables are constructed with extruded discontinuities in the cable jacket that allow the jacket to be torn to provide access to the cable core. The discontinuities can be longitudinally extending strips of material in the cable jacket.
Abstract:
Sheathed optical waveguides and methods for producing such waveguides are provided. The sheathing is provided so that the fibers of the waveguides do not adhere to the sheathing. To this end, elastomeric material is formed into a tube surrounding a bundle of fibers and is solidified. The tube is prevented from radial compressing the fibers during solidification of the elastomeric material by a fluid in the tube.
