    摘要: A flexible magnetic disk drive to be mounted between, and fastened to, a pair of opposed holder plates forming parts of the housing of a data processing instrument such as a computer or word processor. The disk drive has a base structure comprising a platform, on which there are mounted such standard components as a drive drive mechanism and a head transport mechanism, and a pair of side walls on the opposite sides of the platform. Usually in the form of an aluminum die casting, the base structure would suffer deformation if it were fastened directly to the holder plates, due to positional errors between their screw holes. The deformation of the base structure is avoided by coupling the base structure to the holder plates via a pair of connectors which are fastened to the opposite side walls of the base structure. Each connector has a pair of lugs each having a hole formed therethrough for receiving screws or like fastener elements passing through holes in the holder plates. Being less in rigidity than the base structure and the holder plates, the connector lugs are deformable to take up possible positional errors between the connector lug holes and the holder plate holes.

    摘要: An information processing apparatus such as a computer of the class for office and home use is disclosed which employs a magnetic disk cartridge as an information storage medium, together with a disk drive assembly for information transfer with the disk cartridge. The apparatus has a housing having defined therein a disk drive compartment, in which there is accommodated the disk drive assembly inclusive of its own enclosure having an entrance slot for the insertion of the disk cartridge. Upon full insertion of the disk drive assembly into the disk drive compartment, the disk drive assembly is locked into position by a locking lever which, under the influence of a cantilever spring, engages a first opening in the disk drive assembly. The disk drive assembly may later be disengaged from the disk drive compartment by inserting a tripping tool through the entrance slot and a second opening in the disk drive assembly and exerting a force against the locking levers opposite to the force of the cantilever spring to disengage the locking lever from the disk drive assembly, thus permitting ready withdrawal of the disk drive assembly from the disk drive compartment of the information processing apparatus as for maintenance purposes.

    摘要: A data transfer apparatus employs a pair of magnetic transducer heads for contact with the opposite faces of a magnetic disk for data transfer. The magnetic disk is rotatably housed in a relatively rigid envelope to make up an interchangeable disk cartridge, with the envelope having a shutter openable to expose parts of the opposite faces of the magnetic disk for data transfer contact with the transducer heads. The apparatus has a cartridge cradle movable between a first position where the disk cartridge is loaded on and unloaded from the same, and a second position where the loaded disk cartridge engages wtih a disk drive mechanism to be driven thereby. The cartridge cradle is dually locked against accidental travel from the first to the second position, in order to prevent the collision of the pair of transducer heads with each other. As the second locking mechanism, in addition to the first which is normally employed for latching the cartridge cradle in the first position, a lever for opening the shutter of the disk cartridge is adapted to positively lock the cradle in the first position even if the first locking mechanism is tripped accidentally.
