    摘要: An electromagnetic wave absorber comprising an electromagnetic wave absorbing layer consisting essentially of silicon carbide fibers, which layer may be applied to a metal plate. The wave absorber comprising the absorbing layer-applied metal plate exerts wave absorption expressed in terms of a wave attenuation which is at least 10 dB higher than the inherent attenuation caused by reflection of the wave by the absorbing layer-free original metal plate, the wave used being one which has a frequency of 8-16 GHz. Further, the silicon carbide fibers may be made into woven cloths, mat felts or the like which are laminated together and then composited with a synthetic resin or ceramics to prepare the wave absorbing layer.

    摘要: A process for the production of flexible graphite comprising incorporating particulate expanded graphite having a c direction expansion at least 10 times as great as that of the original c direction dimension with an organo-silicon high molecular weight compound having carbon and silicon as the skeletal components, such as polysilmethylenesiloxane, or with a colloidal silica, drying the resulting mixture, pressure molding the dried mixture and heat treating the molded mixture at 500.degree.-2000.degree. C. thereby to produce the flexible graphite. In one embodiment, this invention relates to flexible graphite obtained by the process.

    摘要: An electromagnetic wave absorber comprising a surface layer made of a composite of fibers having an electrical specific resistance of more than 10.sup.4 .OMEGA.cm and a resin, and a wave absorbing layer made of a composite containing silicon carbide fibers having an electrical specific resistance of from 10.sup.-2 to 10.sup.4 .OMEGA.cm. The composite used in the surface layer may be prepared, for example, by impregnating the resin in between the fibers after they have been treated to be a woven cloth, mat or felt or unidirectionally arranged fibers. If a wave absorbing layer is to be made of a composite containing the silicon carbide fibers and a resin, then the composite may be prepared in the same way as above.
