摘要: To provide a bottom link type front wheel suspension for a motorcycle, which allows accessories such as a headlamp to be easily arranged in front of a front fork. A bottom link type front wheel suspension includes a top bridge and a bottom bridge mounted on upper and lower portions of a steering stem; front forked portions having upper ends mounted on the top and bottom bridges; front wheel supporting arms having front ends vertically swingably connected to the lower ends of the front forked portions; rods having lower ends connected to middle points of the front wheel supporting arms; an arm vertically swingably extending forwardly from the bottom bridge and connected to the upper ends of the rods via a rod hanger; dampers having lower ends connected to the arm; and an upper bracket mounted on the upper portions of the front forked portions and connected to the upper ends of the dampers, wherein the center of the damper substantially corresponds to the center, of the front forked portion.

摘要: A brake stem for a motorcycle in which the operation of the front and rear brakes is synchronized. A front brake caliper is attached to a bracket on the front wheel. The braking force on the caliper is transmitted to a master cylinder via the bracket, and serves to compress the master cylinder. The master cylinder includes an outlet which transmits pressurized hydraulic fluid from the master cylinder to a rear brake.

摘要: A front wheel suspension in which a pin connects an upper link to a push rod. The push rod is also swingably connected to a front wheel supporting arm. The push rod is arranged such that the displacement gradient of the pin maintains a constant sign throughout a suspension stroke of the front wheel. This motion is accomplished by ensuring that an angle between an axis of a front fork and an axis connecting pivot points on the front wheel supporting arm is maintained at less than 90° throughout the suspension stroke.

摘要: A motorcycle is provided with a rear fork attached to a body frame so as to swing up and down freely. A rear wheel is attached to the rear end portion of the rear fork, a gear case is attached to a side of the rear wheel, and a drive shaft is provided between the gear case and an output shaft of a power unit. The output of the power unit is transmitted to the rear wheel via the drive shaft and the gear case. In the motorcycle, the gear case is supported by a rear-wheel axle provided in the rear end portion of the rear fork. A torque rod, which links an outer periphery portion of the gear case with the rear fork, serves as a stopper for rotation of the gear case. The resulting configuration provides a shaft-drive system that reduces the assembling time of the torque rod, and improves the productivity of the main line.

摘要: To improve the operability of push rods. A link-type front suspension for a front wheel includes forked pipes, push rods, damping devices, upper links, and pivot links. The push rod and the damping device are disposed substantially coaxially with each other in a side view and are rotatably connected to each other. Upper ends of the damping devices and upper ends of the forked pipes are connected by an upper bracket. A top bridge is provided to mount the upper ends of the forked pipes, and a steering stem is provided to mount intermediate portions of the forked pipes. A stem pipe is provided for connecting a rear central portion of the top bridge to a rear central portion of the steering stem and is turnably mounted to a head pipe. A leading end of the pivot arm is connected to an axle. The length of the pivot arm is equal to that of the upper link. The left side upper link extends forwardly from a point connected to the push rod, and the extending end thereof is connected to a mounting portion of a front fender. A fender link, being substantially equal in length to the upper link and parallel thereto, is provided on the right side of the vehicle at a position lower than the upper link. One end of the fender link is connected to the forked pipe. Thus, the upper link, fender link, front fender and forked pipe form an approximately parallelogram link.

摘要: To provide a power transmission mechanism into which a driven flange is assembled, the power transmission mechanism producing no metal contact noises. A driven flange is divided into an engine side flange and a wheel side flange. The engine side flange may be formed of a steel forging and the wheel side flange may be formed of an aluminum forging. The engine side flange is spline-fitted in a final gear integrally rotated with a bevel gear. Furthermore, openings are formed in the wheel side flange at equal intervals and blocks having a threaded hole therein are pressed into the openings. In addition, the engine side flange, the wheel side flange, and the blocks are integrally connected together with bolts.

摘要: A motorcycle includes a rear fork with a first and the second extending portions, and a cross portion, the cross section linking the first and the second extending portions together. The first extending portion extends toward a first side of a rear wheel, the second extending portion extends toward a second side of the rear wheel. The first extending portion, which has an open cross sectional structure and through which a drive shaft is passed, is made to have larger outer diameter than the second extending portion, which has a closed cross sectional structure. Nonetheless, the rigidity of the first extending portion and the second extending portion are approximately the same. The drive shaft extends rearwardly and passes through the opening on the inside of the first extending portion.

摘要: To facilitate positioning of a speedometer gear box provided between a hub and a caliper bracket. A speedometer gear box is disposed between one side face of a hub of a front wheel and a bracket boss portion of a caliper bracket for rotation on an axle. A stopper is provided at a position on an inner side surface of the caliper bracket at a location where it cannot be visually observed from the outside such that, when a link type front suspension is extended fully, a positioning projection formed on an outer periphery of the speedometer gear box secured to the axle is contacted with the stopper. An indicator is formed at a position of the inner side surface of the caliper bracket in the proximity of an end edge at which it can be visually observed readily from the outside. This position of the indicator is set such that it coincides with a registration position of the positioning projection when the front suspension is contracted by a predetermined static load
