摘要: There is provided a PDP, in which the deterioration in the address discharge timelag with age is suppressed, which is bright, has guaranteed life, can stably be driven, is of low power consumption, high definition, and high image quality. There is provided a pair of sustaining discharge electrodes on the front substrate extending in a row direction for forming a display line, a floating electrode not connected to an external electrode is arranged on the same substrate as the pair of sustaining discharge electrode so as not to pass through a center line extending in a column direction and dividing the discharge cell into two equal parts, thereby intensifying the local potential of an area of the MgO surface not influenced by the sputtering by the sustaining discharge in the address discharge, promoting the electron emission from this area, and suppressing the deterioration of the address discharge timelag.

摘要: A plasma display device includes plural discharge cells each defined by a pair of first and second discharge-sustaining electrodes and an address electrode intersecting therewith. A driving method thereof includes period for addressing the discharge cells and thereby inducing address-discharge therein, and light-emission period for applying repetitive pulse voltages to at least one of the first and second discharge-sustaining electrodes such that the addressed ones of the discharge cells start and sustain main discharge depending upon the presence of the address-discharge to generate light. Second repetitive pulse voltages are applied to the address electrodes to generate pre-discharge, and rise in portions of the light-emission period during which an absolute value of a voltage difference between the first and second discharge-sustaining electrodes does not exceed 0.9×a maximum of an absolute value of a voltage difference between the first and second discharge-sustaining electrodes during the light-emission period.

摘要: A high-definition, high-quality, and high-contrast PDP that features high brightness, guaranteed long life, and stable driving, is provided by improving the time-dependent degradation of address discharge delay. The PDP includes: a front substrate having bus electrodes, and sustain discharge electrodes extending in a lateral direction of the bus electrodes to form display lines; a back substrate having address electrodes facing the sustain discharge electrodes in the lateral direction of the bus electrodes; and discharge cells formed between the substrates. Each of the discharge cells includes a sustain discharge cell and a priming discharge cell, in which a protruding electrode is formed to extend in a direction opposite to the discharge gap from the bus electrode, and a predetermined space is provided between the two cells to supply priming. The shape and size of the space are optimized so that the sustain discharge does not spread to the address discharge cell through the space.

摘要: Values of input parameters are set. Simulations are executed in parallel for individual sets of input parameters by a plurality of processors to obtain design values which are execution results. The obtained design values are compared with the design condition. Directory files are constructed for plural kinds of input parameters corresponding to design values satisfying the design condition. Accumulative distribution in the distribution of parameter input values are determined in respect of the individual kinds of input parameters. Input values of parameters to be referred are extracted on the basis of values of the accumulative distribution every kind of input parameter. The kind of input parameter, the extracted input values and the number of the extracted input values are displayed through an input interface every kind of input parameter.

摘要: A high-quality long-life plasma display panel is provided by enabling compatibility between priming-electron emission characteristics, and other characteristics such as sputtering resistance, secondary electron emission characteristics, and wall charge retention. The plasma display panel is structured to include a front substrate, transparent electrodes and bus electrodes provided on the inner side of the front substrate, a dielectric layer covering these electrodes, a first protective layer covering the dielectric layer, and a second protective layer disposed on the side closer to the discharge space than the first protective layer. The first protective layer is doped with Sc to generate a predetermined excitation light by incidence of ultraviolet light. The second protective layer is doped with Si to emit electrons to the discharge space by the excitation light. With this structure, it is possible to realize a plasma display device in which the discharge delay is small, thereby the fluctuation less occurs.

The luminous efficacy hs and the display discharge voltage Vs are increased by increasing the product pd in discharge, or increasing the Xe proportion aXe of the discharge. As a result the display-discharge region area ratio Ad and the display region reflectance β can be reduced by reducing the display-electrode area Sse approximately in inverse proportion to Vs2, and thereby the set-luminous efficacy hs and the set luminance Bpons and the light-room contrast Cb are increased.

摘要: A plasma display system has a plasma display panel including a pair of base plates for forming a plurality of discharge cells therebetween, and a plurality of pairs of electrodes for sustaining discharge to form plasma through a dielectric substance thereon in the discharge cells. The pairs of electrodes for sustaining discharge are disposed on a same one of the pair of base plates. The plasma display panel is configured such that a discharge current integrated over 40% of a discharge time Td from a start of the discharge time Td is smaller than a discharge current integrated over a remainder of the discharge time Td in one discharge, wherein the discharge time Td is defined as a time interval over which a discharge current does not drop to less than 5% of its maximum value in one discharge.
