摘要： A liquid absorbing apparatus comprises a liquid absorption part provided with a fibrous sheet comprising a nonwoven fabric composed of three-dimensionally interlaced fibers and having a high-polymeric elastic material impregnated in cavities of the nonwoven fabric. The liquid absorption part is provided with a suction mechanism for suctioning a liquid. This apparatus has a remarkable liquid absorption power and a remarkable retentivity of the absortion power, and enables a uniform squeezing of a liquid. It is effectively useful for or in removing liquid deposited on or contained in such as a metal product, a fiber product, a ground floor and so forth to clean them.

摘要： A composite carbonaceous heat insulator which comprises a carbonaceous heat-insulating member having a bulk density of 0.1 to 0.4 g/cm3, a carbonaceous protecting layer having a bulk density of 0.3 to 2.0 g/cm3 and comprising a carbon fiber structure and a thermally decomposed carbon penetrated into the structure, and a thermally decomposed carbon coating layer having a bulk density higher than that of the carbonaceous protecting layer, wherein the above carbonaceous protecting layer is jointed to at least a part of the carbonaceous heat-insulating member to form a jointed body, and the thermally decomposed carbon coating layer is formed at least on the face of carbonaceous heat-insulating member in the surface of the jointed body; and a method for manufacturing the insulator. The heat insulator is reduced with respect to the depletion, deterioration and pulverization during the use thereof, while maintaining excellent insulating characteristics.

摘要： A flocked yarn comprises a core yarn with a total denier of 140-1260, an adhesive applied onto the core yarn at an amount within predetermined range and flock fibers with a cut length of 0.5-3.0 mm which are flocked at a flocking density of not less than 30,000/cm.sup.2. The flocked yarn can be obtained by a method wherein for application of flock fibers onto an adhesive layer applied to the core yarn an electrostatic field in which an attractive force operates and an electrostatic field in which a repulsive force operates are applied either alternately by changing the polarity of one of a single pair of electrodes or, in a continuous process, sequentially by arranging two kinds of electrostatic fields. The flocked yarn thus obtained can have a good touch, a high flocking density and a high abrasion resistance.
