    摘要: Branched polysilane copolymers are prepared via a Wurtz-type coupling reaction by reacting a mixture of two different dihalosilanes and a single trihalosilane with an alkali metal coupling agent in an organic liquid medium. The branched polysilane copolymers are recovered from the reaction mixture. Capped branched polysilane copolymers are prepared via the same Wurtz-type coupling reaction with addition of a capping agent to the reaction mixture. The capping agent is a monohalosilane, monoalkoxysilane, dialkoxysilane, or trialkoxysilane. The branched polysilane copolymers and the capped branched polysilane copolymers are soluble in organic liquid medium.

    摘要: In a first method, branched polysilanes are prepared via a Wurtz-type coupling reaction by reacting a mixture of a dihalosilanes and a trihalosilanes with an alkali metal coupling agent in an organic liquid medium. The reaction mixture is free of tetrahalosilanes. The branched polysilanes are recovered from the reaction mixture. In a second method, capped-branched polysilanes are prepared via the same Wurtz-type coupling reaction noted above, with the addition of a capping agent to the reaction mixture. The capping agent can be a monohalosilane, monoalkoxysilane, or trialkoxysilane. Capped-branched polysilanes are re-covered from the reaction mixture. The branched polysilanes are soluble in organic liquid mediums.

    摘要: An unmanned system for investigating underwater regions utilizes an unmanned mothership and a plurality of unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs). The mothership transports the UUVs to and from the vicinity of an underwater region, releases the UUVs into the water, and facilitates recovery of the UUVs from the water. Each UUV can traverse an underwater region, generate sonar and image data associated with the underwater region, and transmit the sonar and image data through the water for receipt and re-transmission by the mothership. A docking system mounted partially onboard the mothership and partially onboard each UUV couples each UUV to the mothership and selectively releases each UUV into the underwater region. A guidance system mounted partially onboard the mothership and partially onboard each UUV guides each UUV back to the docking system from positions in the water. The mothership and UUVs can also be equipped with a non-contact electrical energy transfer system so that each UUV can return to the mothership and re-charge onboard batteries while underwater.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for a remote diagnostic system for motorized vehicles. Apparatus according to this aspect of the invention includes a base station having a processor associated with a transceiver and a remote unit installed in a vehicle. The remote unit includes a controller associated with a transceiver, where the controller gathers diagnostic data. The remote unit controller transmits a vehicle identification signal in conjunction with diagnostic data to the base station transceiver such that the base station processor monitors the diagnostic data for the vehicle. Another aspect of the invention further includes a mapping processor associated with a memory. The memory stores a virtual map of a local operating area having areas that are allowable and restricted. The controller is coupled to the mapping processor and a GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver is coupled to the mapping processor. The GPS receiver determines a current vehicle location and the mapping processor correlates the current vehicle location to a corresponding location on the virtual map. The mapping processor determines whether the vehicle is in a restricted area. The vehicle transceiver is configured to transmit a vehicle identification signal and location to the base station transceiver such that the base station processor monitors the location and status for each of the motorized vehicles.
