    摘要： An apparatus 1 serves for treating tumors in particular. This apparatus has, for example, a sensor-actuator head 3 with at least one sensor 10 for determining the acidification of the immediate surroundings of the tumor cells. An active ingredient dispensing device for exerting chemical influence and/or electrodes for exerting physical influence through electrical and/or electromagnetic fields on the tumorous tissue area to be treated are provided on the sensor-actuator head. The sensor(s) 10 as well as the active ingredient dispensing facility and/or the treatment electrodes are connected with a control facility for controlling chemical and/or physical treatment of the tumorous tissue area as a function of measured values.

    摘要： An ice cube-making machine that is characterized by noiseless operation at the location where ice cubes are dispensed and be lightweight packages for ease of installation. The ice cube-making machine has an evaporator package, a separate compressor package and a separate condenser package. Each of these packages has a weight that can generally by handled by one or two installers for ease of installation. The noisy compressor and condenser packages can be located remotely of the evaporator package. The maximum height distance between the evaporator package and the condenser package is greatly enhanced by the three package system. A pressure regulator operates during a harvest cycle to limit flow of refrigerant leaving the evaporator, thereby increasing pressure and temperature of the refrigerant in the evaporator and assisting in defrost thereof. The evaporator can be integrated with a beverage dispenser and an ice dispenser.

    摘要： The present invention is directed to the generation of antibodies which preferentially bind to fibrinogen fragments E1, E2 and E3, but exhibit little or no cross-reactivity against fibrin monomer and fibrinogen. Thus, the invention provides synthetic peptides containing defined amino acid sequences corresponding to the carboxy terminal regions of the E fragments which arise as a result of plasmin cleavage of fibrin and fibrinogen. The synthetic peptides may be synthesized chemically, or through genetic manipulations, and may contain additional amino acid sequences which are not contiguous with the defined E fragment sequences.
