    摘要: A method for treating refractive eye abnormalities, including myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism, by shifting the spectral distribution of incident light is described. Optical filters or tints are provided on eyeglasses, contact lenses, intra-ocular implants, or at ambient light sources to shift the spectral distribution of light entering the eye being treated. Ambient light sources emitting at specified spectral distribution or wavelength range can also be used. In this way, the average spectral distribution of visible light incident to an eye is controlled to treat refractive eye abnormalities. Changes in the eyeball shape and focus resulting from an eye's response to the spectral distribution of light are prevented, mitigated, halted, or even reversed. The visible spectral content is shifted to shorter or longer wavelengths over an entire field of view detected by the retina to treat myopia and hyperopia respectively. To correct for astigmatism, the spectral distribution of light is shifted within selected areas of a retina field of view corresponding to an abnormal power.

    摘要: A subsystem architecture for direct memory access of random access memory (RAM) which performs block transfers of adjacent units of memory from one memory location to another. The architecture comprises a RAM array with write enable capability, serial access memory (SAM) registers, an alignment unit, and controller. An embodiment is described which performs bit-block transfers (BitBLTs) of pixel data within a graphical user interface (GUI) subsystem which utilizes Triple-ported Dynamic RAM (TPDRAM). The BitBLT is broken up into four cycles which handle the transfer of all possible combinations of units of adjacent memory utilizing the entire bandwidth of the port writing to RAM. The architecture allows operations to be pipelined.

    摘要: The guitar has a novel feedback arrangement for sustaining the sound generated from the strings and including a pickup associated with each string and a corresponding driver intercoupled with the pickup in a feedback loop that also includes a gain-controlled amplifier. The amplifiers are controlled in common from a variable control means. The pickups, drivers and associated electronics are all commonly mounted from the bridge. In an alternate embodiment of the invention there is provided an improved sustain technique that provides a more natural sustain characteristic, employing a parametric type of excitation. This embodiment may comprise a pickup, amplifier and tensioning member responsive to the output of the amplifier for sustaining string vibration by causing longitudinal string displacement by means of the tensioning member. In a similar embodiment the string tension may be held constant and the string length varied instead.
