Abstract:
A mobile communication device for access probe handoff is provided. In the mobile communication device, a wireless module performs wireless transmissions and receptions to and from a first cellular station and a second cellular station, and a controller module configures the mobile communication device to operate in a selective retransmission mode, and detects that a signal quality of the first cellular station is less than a predetermined threshold during an access sub-attempt to the first cellular station via the wireless module. Also, the controller module hands off the mobile communication device from the first cellular station to the second cellular station in response to detecting that the signal quality of the first cellular station is less than a predetermined threshold, and clears a physical layer buffer and restarts a selective acknowledgement (SACK) operation for the selective retransmission mode after the handoff of the mobile communication device.

Abstract:
A method for mobile station accessing to a base station in a wireless communication system that uses selective acknowledgement mechanism, comprising: transmitting, an access probe from the mobile station to the base station; receiving, a message from the base station, wherein the message indicates parts of the plurality of data frames are not decoded by the base station; passing, an instruction from a MAC layer to a PHY layer of the mobile station, wherein the instruction is used to send a selective acknowledgement header; sending, the parts of data frames that are not decoded by the base station from the MAC layer to the PHY layer according to the message; and retransmitting the parts of the plurality of data frames.
Abstract:
A call control method is provided. The call control method includes broadcasting a message with a base station, wherein the message includes a plurality of check values respectively corresponding to different types of applications; receiving the message with a terminal device; selecting, with the terminal device, the check value corresponding to a specific application initiated with the terminal device; performing, with the terminal device, a persistence test to initiate a call to the base station for the specific application according to the selected check value; and requesting a MAC layer of the terminal device to initiate an access procedure of the call when the persistence test is passed.
Abstract:
A service network for access procedure enhancement includes a radio access network performing wireless transmissions and receptions to and from a mobile communication device. The service network also includes a control node receiving an access probe from the mobile communication device via the radio access network, determining whether the access probe indicates that a length of message data is less than a threshold, and transmitting a pre-acknowledgement of the access probe to the mobile communication device via the radio access network in response to the length of the message data being less than the threshold.
Abstract:
Communication system and method of data communication are provided. The method of data communication for a MAC layer includes initiating an access attempt; transmitting, by a mobile station, a probe to a base station (BS), wherein the probe includes header information and data frames; decoding the header information and the data frames; generating, by the BS, a SACK message; and transmitting the SACK message to the MS.
Abstract:
A mobile communication device including a wireless module and a controller module is provided, and the mobile communication device is coupled to a cellular access station. The wireless module performs wireless transmissions and receptions to and from the cellular access station. The controller module determines whether a GAPM has been received from the cellular access station via the wireless module and whether the mobile communication device supports an EACH, and if so, performs Tx operations on the EACH using a random access procedure with a message duration, and otherwise, if not, performs the Tx operations on an ACH using the random access procedure. Particularly, the GAPM includes a maximum message duration and a minimum message duration over the EACH, and the message duration is not greater than the maximum message duration and not less than the minimum message duration over the EACH.
