    摘要: In many telecommunication systems, message signals which include a predefined sample bit sequence (training sequence) are transmitted, to improve the signal processing in the receiver, particularly the equalization. For this purpose, on the basis of the sample bit sequence, the channel pulse response is estimated within an iterative method. Extending the sample bit sequence by those bits which result from the reconstruction of the transmitted signal is known. It is here proposed that the equalization stage is synchronized to the received signal, by using at least the second channel pulse response which is estimated using the extended sample bit sequence. For this purpose, the receiver includes suitable synchronization means. In this way, it is achieved that the equalization is precisely adapted to the temporal course of the channel pulse response, so that the equalization of the received signal can be significantly improved. In tests, improvements to the signal-to-noise ratio of about 0.5 dB were achieved. Preferably, for the iterative channel estimate, the extended sample bit sequence is divided into two or more parts in the case of rapid channel changes such as can occur in mobile communication systems.

More specifically, the invention relates to a method of controlling the transmission power of a first communication device in a wireless communications network based on the UMTS standard, the first communication device having established a HSDPA connection to a second communication device, whereby the absolute value of the difference between the HSDPA transmission power in a first transmission time interval (tti1) and the HSDPA transmission power in a subsequent second transmission time interval (tti2) is chosen to be smaller than a predetermined value (v). Furthermore, the invention relates to a node B which can carry out the method mentioned above, and power control means associated with said node B.

    摘要: The present invention provides a method of estimating a channel quality of a wireless data transmission channel on the basis of channel quality indicators. By means of estimating the channel quality an accurate and momentary channel quality of a data transmission channel can be obtained on the basis of non-momentary CQIs that may be subject to measurement inaccuracies, delay or that may feature unacceptable quality due to e.g. high velocity movement of a mobile station. The invention provides determination of the quality and reliability of an obtained channel quality indicator and to select and to successively apply one or a plurality of various estimation procedures in order to determine an accurate and momentary channel quality indicator. Moreover, by making use of an iterative calibration procedure a CQI is determined such that a systematic offset between a defined transmission quality measure and an actually measured transmission quality can be effectively eliminated.

    摘要: The invention refers to a mobile radio communication system (1) for downlink transmission and to a method for transmitting a signal (s) across at least two downlink paths (5, 6) of a multiple antenna (3, 4) mobile radio communication system (1). The system (1) comprises: a base station (2) comprising a plurality of antennas (3, 4); at least one mobile user equipment (8); at least two downlink paths (5, 6) across at least two of the antennas (3, 4) for transmitting a signal (s) from the base station (2) to the at least one user equipment (8), each downlink path (5, 6) comprising a complex channel coefficient (h1, h2); and a feedback path (9) for returning information on at least one complex weight (w) from the user equipment (8) to the base station (2), the at least one complex weight (w) being used for multiplying the signal (s) which is transmitted across at least two of the downlink paths (6). In order to enhance the tolerance of the system (1) against transmission errors (11) on the feedback path (9) it is suggested that the antennas (3, 4) of the base station (2) are disposed in such a distance (a) to one another that the channels of the antennas (3, 4) are correlated. It is further suggested that error detection mechanisms for detecting transmission errors (11) are incorporated in the feedback path (9). Further, it is suggested that error correction mechanisms for correcting transmission errors (11) are incorporated in the feedback path (9). Finally, it is suggested that filter mechanisms (19, 20) are incorporated in the user equipment (8) and in the base station (2).
