    摘要: The invention relates to wireless communication networks, and to the way in which communication devices choose their transmission power when communicating with each other. More specifically, the invention relates to a method of controlling the transmission power of a first communication device in a wireless communications network based on the UMTS standard, the first communication device having established a HSDPA connection to a second communication device, whereby the absolute value of the difference between the HSDPA transmission power in a first transmission time interval (tti1) and the HSDPA transmission power in a subsequent second transmission time interval (tti2) is chosen to be smaller than a predetermined value (v). Furthermore, the invention relates to a node B which can carry out the method mentioned above, and power control means associated with said node B.

    摘要: In a wireless network, for example, an LTE network, the context information relating to a mobile terminal UE is transmitted to a plurality of network nodes eNB 2, 3 and 4 from a source network node, eNB 1. One of the eNB 2 is a handover target node and also reserves resources for the UE in anticipation of receiving it after handover. The other eNBs 3 and 4 do not reserve resources. In the event of radio link failure, the UE may attach to one of the designated eNBs 3 and 4 that have not reserved resources, but that do recognize the UE because they have received its context. The method reduces the likelihood of the UE needing to go via the time consuming IDLE state while only reserving resources at a handover target eNB.

    摘要: In a point-to-multipoint system (SYS), particularly a video-on-demand system, comprising a send unit (SERVER) in the form of a server and a plurality of receive units (DEC) in the form of decoders, a new version of the system software for the decoders is to be transferred to the latter. This is done by taking the following steps: 1. An announce signal containing the information that the new system software or part thereof will subsequently be transferred is transmitted from the server to all decoders simultaneously. 2. The system software or part thereof is transferred in the form of data packets from the server to all decoders simultaneously. By the advance information in the form of an announce signal which is transmitted to all decoders by the broadcast method, the decoders are notified of the forthcoming transmission of the current version of the system software, whereupon they can prepare for the reception of the new version. The new version is also transmitted by the broadcast method, and ideally only once.
