    摘要: An image processing apparatus processes diagnostic image data bearing thereon an image through which a disease is to be diagnosed so that a visible image having a quality optimal to diagnose the disease can be obtained. The image processing apparatus includes an image processing condition storage section and an image processing section. Names of various diseases and image processing conditions for the respective diseases are stored in the image processing condition storage section. The diagnostic image data is input into the image processing section. The name of a disease which is to be diagnosed is input into the image processing condition storage section, and the image processing condition corresponding to the disease is input into the image processing section from the image processing condition storage section. The image processing section carries out image processing on the image data according to the image processing condition input thereinto and generates a processed image data. The processed image data is sent to an image reproducing system where a visible image is reproduced on the basis of the processed image data.

    摘要: At least two stimulable phosphor sheets are exposed to at least two kinds of radiation, which have different energy distributions, without an object intervening between the stimulable phosphor sheets and a source of the radiation. The stimulable phosphor sheets are then exposed to stimulating rays, which cause them to emit light in proportion to the amount of energy stored thereon during their exposure to the radiation. The light emitted is photoelectrically detected, and digital image signals are thereby obtained, which are to be used for compensating for nonuniformity in how the radiation is irradiated to the stimulable phosphor sheets. Digital image signals representing radiation images of an object stored with at least two kinds of radiation and the corresponding digital image signals for the compensation are then subtracted from each other, and digital image signals are obtained which are free of noise due to nonuniformity in how at least two kinds of radiation are irradiated to the stimulable phosphor sheets. The digital image signals, which are free of noise, are then subtracted from each other, and a difference signal is thereby obtained which represents the image of only the bones represented by the radiation images. Bone calcium in the bones is quantitatively analyzed by utilizing the difference signal.

    摘要: A stimulable phosphor sheet, on which a radiation image of an object has been stored, is exposed to stimulating rays, which cause the stimulable phosphor sheet to emit light in proportion to the amount of energy stored thereon during its exposure to radiation. The emitted light is detected by a photoelectric read-out device, and an image signal representing the radiation image is thereby obtained. Threshold value processing is carried out in accordance with the obtained image signal, and a prospective abnormal pattern is thereby detected from the radiation image. A predetermined threshold value, which is used in the threshold value processing for detecting the prospective abnormal pattern, is set to be a small value as the amount of change in the image signal corresponding to the region in the vicinity of the prospective abnormal pattern becomes large.

    摘要: In a radiation image read-out method and apparatus, a stimulable phosphor sheet carrying a radiation image stored thereon is exposed to stimulating rays which cause the stimulable phosphor sheet to emit light in proportion to the stored radiation energy, and the emitted light is photoelectrically detected by use of a light detection device to obtain image signals for use in reproduction of a visible image. Light detection ranges of the light detection device suitable for image recording conditions are stored in conformity with the respective image recording conditions in a memory. In the course of detection of the light emitted by the stimulable phosphor sheet, the image recording conditions with respect to the stimulable phosphor sheet on which image read-out is to be carried out are designated, the light detection range corresponding to the designated image recording conditions is read from the memory, and is set in the light detection device.
