摘要: In a medical data managing system, a plurality of medical data are first classified based on a classification item such as sorts of medical examinations. Thereafter, the classified medical data are stored in the same optical disk, or the same clustered data recording region of the optical disk in order to effectively search/retrieve desirable medical data from a plurality of optical disks based upon the classification item covering this desirable medical data. A medical data managing system comprises: a unit for sequentially acquiring a plurality of medical data about a biological body under medical examination; a unit for classifying the plurality of medical data based upon at least one of medical classification items to obtain a plurality of classified medical data; and a unit for sequentially storing the plurality of classified medical data into a plurality of data storage mediums in such a manner that the plurality of classified medical data belonging to the same classification item are stored in the same data storage medium.

摘要: An electronic prescription creation system for use by professional prescribers at the point of care has a prescription division subsystem permitting creation of a single prescription to be automatically divided into two components for fulfilment of one portion quickly and locally at higher cost and of another portion by remote mail order taking more time but providing a cost saving for a major part of the prescription. The prescription creation system has an ability to access remote source databases for system presentation to the prescriber of relevant, authorized and current drug, drug formulary and patient history information, with dynamic creation of a transient virtual patient record, the information being presented to the prescriber before completion of the prescription, permitting enhancement of the quality of prescribing decisions.

摘要: A procedure and device for analyzing the gray scale of mammograms. Mammogram images are digitized and subject to image enhancement by manipulating the gray scale. Each pixel of the digitized mammogram is grouped as to a gray scale interval and those pixels lying in the same gray scale interval are assigned a common display value. The display values are displayed for each pixel location on both a color and monochrome monitor producing a unique pattern giving a finer detailed image of density changes in breast parenchyma. Interpretation of these patterns indicate suspicious areas where immediate magnification of the suspect area can produce a better image of a mass for application of known malignant tumor characteristics.

摘要: A method for synthesizing three dimensional multimodality image sets into a single composite image with accurate registration and congruence. Surfaces are initially extracted from two or more different images to be matched using semi-automatic segmentation techniques. These surfaces are represented as contours with common features to be matched. A distance transformation is performed for one surface image, and a cost function for the matching process is developed using the distance image. The geometric transformation includes three-dimensional translation, rotation and scaling to accommodate images of different position, orientation and size. The matching process involves efficiently searching this multi-parameter space and adjusting a surface or surfaces to find the best fit among them which minimizes the cost function. The local minima problem is addressed by using a large number of starting points. A pyramid multi-resolution approach is employed to speed up both the distance transformation computation and the multi-parameter minimization processes. Robustness in noise handling is accomplished using multiple thresholds embedded in the multi-resolution search. The method can register both partially overlapped and fragmented surfaces.

摘要: Vital parameters of patient and medication parameters are automatically combined to form anesthetic protocols. A multi-step configuration method facilitates anesthesia protocol system reconfiguration. All the groups which may be taken into account for a possible future reproduction of the anesthesia protocol are first defined by combining parameters to form a group. A configuration name is assigned to each group. In a subsequent step, each anesthesia protocol segment has one of the groups assigned to it. The steps of forming the groups and assigning the groups to segments are repeated for each configuration. In a subsequent on-line mode of the anesthesia protocol system, the operator reconfigures the system by using the configuration name.

摘要: A medical monitor, such as a fetal monitor, records physiologic signals representing the same physiologic parameter, but originating from different beings, such as the heart rate traces originating from two fetuses, in particular twins. In case the two signals show a significant amount of overlap which impairs their interpretation, one of the signals is recorded with an appropriate offset. Switching between the offset mode and the non-offset mode may be performed manually or on an automatic basis.

摘要: A method of managing medical diagnostic data in a database system, capable of simplifying the data look up operation to be made at a user terminal while working on a currently interested medical diagnostic data. In the method, one of the medical diagnostic data stored in the database is specified as a base data while a desired number of the medical diagnostic data stored in the database are specified as reference data of the base data, and the identification data of the base data is stored in correspondence with identification data of the reference data in the database. Then, the base data is presented on a user terminal along with the identification data of the reference data stored in correspondence with the identification data of the data base, such that when one of the identification data for a desired one of the reference data is specified on the user terminal, the desired one of the reference data corresponding to the specified one of the identification data can be presented on the user terminal.

摘要: A method for calculating a coagulation characteristic of a sample of blood, a blood fraction, or a control comprises generating an output signal indicative of coagulation of the sample, sampling the output signal at a sampling rate for a predetermined time to provide a plurality of sampled signal values, storing the sampled signal values, rectifying the stored sampled signal values to provide a plurality of envelope values, and storing the envelope values. The stored envelope values are examined in reverse time order to determine a slope of the envelope at each of the stored envelope values. All relative maxima in the stored envelope values are identified. A range of stored envelope values corresponding to each relative maximum is determined. The identified relative maxima are compared to locate an absolute maximum in the stored envelope values. The coagulation characteristic is then calculated from the stored envelope values within the predetermined range of envelope values corresponding to the absolute maximum.
