    摘要： An apparatus for applying a suture clip to a suture includes (a) an endoscopic portion having at least one slot to position a suture transversely to the longitudinal axis of the endoscopic portion, a camming surface for closing a clip onto a suture positioned within the suture receiving means, a pusher for advancing a suture clip into the camming surface, and a tubular housing; and (b) a handle portion including a handle portion housing, and an actuation mechanism for actuating the pusher.

    摘要： A trocar which automatically deactivates upon penetration through a body wall includes a housing portion, an obturator shaft mounted with respect to the housing portion and having proximal and distal ends, a conductor element extending at least partially along the obturator shaft for conducting energy from an energy source and a conductive tip member associated with the distal end of the obturator shaft for penetrating tissue. The conductive tip member is mounted for movement relative to the obturator shaft between a first position in communication with the conductor element and a second position disassociated from the conductor element.

    摘要： A suture fastening device which includes a first member having a base and first and second legs projecting in a lengthwise direction along the base. The legs are parallel to each other and are resiliently biased toward a spaced apart position in relation to each other. A second member is provided and includes an aperture for receiving the first and second legs of the first member. The first and second members are connected by a hinge portion. A suture is held in serpentine fashion by positioning the suture transversely across both legs and locking the first member to the second member by forcing the legs through the aperture.

    摘要： A surgical device is described herein that can be used to fire different types and sizes of disposable loading units. In a preferred embodiment, the device applies parallel rows of surgical fasteners to body tissue and concomitantly forms an incision between the rows of staples during an endoscopic or laparoscopic surgical procedure. The device can be utilized with disposable loading units configured to apply linear rows of staples measuring from about 15 mm in length to about 60 mm in length and can be used to fire disposable loading units containing surgical clips and individual staples.
