An apparatus is disclosed for measuring the permeability of an anode of a solid oxide fuel cell. The apparatus includes a specimen container, an air reservoir and a recorder. The specimen container includes a can and a cover. The can includes a tunnel defined therein and a cavity in communication with the tunnel. The anode can be disposed in the cavity. The cover includes a tunnel defined therein and a bulger inserted in the cavity and pressed against the anode so that air can penetrate the anode and travel into the tunnel of the can from the tunnel of the cover. The air reservoir is in communication with the cover. The recorder measures and records the pressure and temperature of air in the air reservoir before and after the air is introduced into the specimen container from the air reservoir.

A voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) is provided which can minimize the frequency shift and phase disturbance caused by noise in the input voltage to the VCO. The VCO includes a voltage-to-current converting unit, receiving the input voltage, for generating a bias voltage. A ring-oscillating unit including an odd number of cascaded ring oscillator stages (ROSC) is coupled to the voltage-to-current converting unit for generating an oscillating signal. A bias unit is coupled to the ring-oscillating unit for generating a stable DC bias voltage for the ring-oscillating unit. A current adjustment unit is coupled to the voltage-to-current converting unit and the ring-oscillating unit, which can generate a working current in response to the bias voltage for the ring-oscillating unit. By feeding the bias voltage and the DC bias voltage to the current adjustment unit, a current feedback loop is formed which serves as a current-sampling shunt-mixing circuit producing a stable current output that allows the VCO to produce an oscillating signal with a stable frequency.

The present invention relates to a solid oxide fuel cell, which comprises: a plurality of tubular electrodes, reacting gases supplying means, and a preheat piping. The tubular electrodes are concentrically arranged while enabling the polarity of a surface of any one of the plural electrodes is the same as that of the corresponding surface of a neighbor electrode faced thereto; wherein each tubular electrode further comprises an anode layer, a cathode layer, and a solid electrolyte layer sandwiched between the anode layer and the cathode layer. The supplying reacting gases means is capable of supplying fuel and gas respectively to the anode and cathode of the tubular electrodes. The preheat piping, connected to the supplying reacting gases means, collects the heat generated from the combustion reaction of residual fuel and gas, which can be utilized to preheat the gases supplying reacting means. The concentric electrode structure of the invention is compact and space saving, so that the efficiency per unit volume of the fuel cell adopting the same is enhanced. Moreover, by employing the referring fuel cell as one power generating unit, a fuel cell module can be formed by combining a plurality of the power generating units that the modularized design enables the fuel cell module to incorporate any amount of fuel cells therein with flexible formation while enabling each fuel cell of the fuel cell module to be maintained and replaced with ease.
