Abstract: An oscillation circuit includes resistors with tap points for high/low reference voltages. An RC network coupled in parallel with the resistors includes a first capacitor to vary a first voltage input and a second capacitor to generate a second voltage input. A first comparator alternately compares the voltage inputs with the low reference voltage to generate oscillation outputs. A PTAT current DAC supplies an injection current to a resistor of the series of resistors that variably modulates the reference voltages. A second comparator alternately compares the voltage inputs with the high reference voltage and controls generation of an adaptive bias current to first comparator near a switching threshold voltage range thereof. A chop switch matrix alternately flips voltage reference inputs to input terminals of first comparator. A multiplexer alternately inverts a polarity of the oscillation outputs in concert with alternately flipping the voltage reference inputs by the chop switch matrix.

Abstract: A start-up circuit for a ring current-controlled oscillator (CCO) includes a replica CCO current generator, a replica ring CCO, and a buffer. The ring CCO is connected to a CCO driver and the buffer. The CCO driver generates a CCO current based on a reference current. The ring CCO generates a CCO output voltage at a first oscillating frequency based on the CCO current. The replica CCO current generator generates a replica CCO current based on a reference voltage. The replica ring CCO generates a replica CCO output voltage at a second oscillating frequency based on the replica CCO current. The buffer provides a first current to the ring CCO when the first oscillating frequency is lower than a desired oscillating frequency, and drains a second current from the ring CCO when the first oscillating frequency is greater than the desired oscillating frequency.

Abstract: An output clock frequency of an adaptive oscillator circuit changes in response to noise on an integrated circuit power supply line. The circuit features two identical delay lines which are separately connected to a regulated supply and a droopy supply. In response to noise on the droopy supply, the delay lines cause a change in the output clock frequency. The adaptive oscillator circuit slows down the output clock frequency when the droopy supply droops or falls below the regulated supply. The adaptive oscillator circuit clamps the output clock frequency at a level determined by the regulated supply when the droopy supply overshoots or swings above the regulated supply.

Abstract: An integrated oscillator has an R-S flipflop; a first and second capacitor; a current source transistor; first and second current-steering transistors, each having a source coupled to the current source transistor, with drains coupled to the first and second capacitor respectively. The first current-steering transistor has gate coupled to a first output of the R-S flipflop, and the second current-steering transistor has gate coupled to a second output of the R-S flipflop. The oscillator has a first sense inverter having input from the first capacitor and powered by a feedback circuit adapted to sense voltages on the first and second capacitor; and a second sense inverter having input from the second capacitor and powered by the feedback circuit. The R-S flipflop has a first input coupled to an output of the first sense inverter and a second input coupled to an output of the second sense inverter.
